He didn't know why he picked it up. It was, to him, a plain brass ring decorated with a flat, blank oval. Had it been only yesterday or even 10 minutes ago, he would try it on and be the new master of a wish-granting ring. But this day was not Richard's lucky day. In a cruel twist of fate, his girlfriend Rita had refused his marriage proposal simply because he had stupidly forgotten to buy an engagement ring. And now, 5 minutes after she rejected him, he finds a ring just laying there on the sidewalk. He mistook it as God mocking him for his blunder, but then he remembered that the beach was not too far from where he stood right now so with determined steps, he walked to the beach, stood close to the shoreline, and threw it as hard as he could into the sea. Satisfied with his deed, Richard decided to go home, thinking to himself that nobody will find that ring in a long while. What he didn't know was that he was very wrong.
Under the waves, hidden from any human eyes, was a 27-year-old mermaid named Malin. She had a green tail, long dark brown hair, blue eyes, and DD-cup breasts. She, like all the other mermaids in the ocean, didn't cover up her chest. As she swam under the waves, she noticed the ring falling into the water. She swam closer and caught the ring before it hit the sea-floor. Curious over why anyone would throw away a ring, Malin decided to put on the ring and to her surprise, the ring adjusted itself until it was a perfect fit. Taken aback by the ring's actions, she said: “I wish I knew what kind of ring this is.”
As soon she said that the voice of an old woman spoke in her mind: “Oh, a daughter of the ocean. This could be very interesting. Now listen carefully, the ring you have found will grant any and all of your fondest wishes. How you use it is up to you.”
As soon as the voice stopped, Malin's mind raced at the many things she wanted to wish for. But eventually, she calmed herself down over the excitement and just like that, one wish was ultimately chosen, namely...
