Slowly, the boys began to lift the shirt, which now seemed a lot baggier, up. They froze as the shirt was lifted half way up, stopping to stare. There was only one stomach; one belly button underneath the shirt. "Jack?" Teddy questioned, unable to look away. "Where is your stomach?"
"Wh-what?" Jack stared at the strange sight. "That is my stomach. That has to be mine? Where is yours? We were right beside each other when we put the shirt on." Jack dropped the side of the shirt he was holding and it fell to partially cover the single stomach. He reached over, across the shirt to roughly pat and rub Teddy's shoulder. "Where is my other arm? We wrapped them around each other... right? I can't feel it. I... I can't feel it."
"Stop that!" Tedd smacked Jack's hand away, letting go of the shirt and letting it hide the single stomach again. "That's my arm." That statement sat in the air for a moment, both slowly took in the gravity of that statement. "This can't be happening." Teddy finally said.
Carter was simply staring at his brother and friend, unable to come up with any words. But he was starting to notice something strange. It surprised him that he hadn't noticed it before. Mark and Luke's faces. "Guys, your-your faces." Carter pointed a finger. "They look different. I-I mean that they look different from... before." Carter knew his brother's face. It was just about the same as his own face as him and Teddy were twins, identical. Or, they at least used to be twins. As they were talking, both Teddy and Jack's faces seemed to morph, right in front of him. Teddy resembled Jack more than he did Carter. "You guys look like... brothers." Not twins, at least not yet.
Teddy and LJackshifted their attention to look at each other. "Holy Shit." Jack said as he stared.
"Yeah holy shit!" Teddy repeated. "What is happening?" Teddy began to work the extra large shirt up, trying to take it off. "Help me!" Teddy commanded.
Jack hurriedly helped Teddy completely take off the shirt, revealing what they were fearing. There was only one torso. Teddy and Jack shifted to see themselves in the mirror. Their faces did not seem to be changing anymore; taking off the shirt might have stopped whatever was happening above their waist. But, they more closely resembled each other now, Teddy looking more like Jack's brother than Carter's. Their two necks met the same shoulders. There was just enough space between them so they could look almost face-to-face if they wanted to. But, neither wanted to at this point. Their gazes were fixed on their reflection. "The pants!" Jack said, suddenly remember the large pair of sweat pants that somehow were still around a waist they clearly shared. Teddy and Jack uncoordinatedly tried to strip the pants off of themselves. Teddy tried to lean forward to strip the pant leg off, which turned out to be a bad idea. The pair fell sideways having lost their balance. Rolling onto their back, they continued to pull and yank the pants off as quickly as possible.
Before they had started getting into the clothes for the challenge, the teens had decided to leave their shorts on as they would easily remain covered by the larger pants and it would help keep those larger pants on. They were now wearing one pair of shorts that was blended together from the two separate pairs they had been wearing. And as they had dreaded, there were only two legs and two feet, one for each of them. The fun game, the conjoined twin challenge, that they had agreed to try seemed a little more permanent. They had literally become a two-headed boy.
