Laura decides that if she can't get on the train she'll be stuck like this forever so she has to go for it. First, she drops her wallet and the dice container down the front of her romper. Then she approaches a man checking tickets at the entrance and holds out her phone. He blinks in surprise when he catches sight of the tiny figure but scans the barcode and pulls out a radio.
"I have a kid for the unaccompanied car. Send an attendant down please." He returns the radio to his belt and smiles at her, "Wow you must be a really big girl to be sent all by yourself! Do you know where you're going?"
Laura quickly comes to the best explanation for her situation she can think of, "Go see dada."
The words are far more infantile than she intended, but thankfully the man's face shows no hint of doubt. After a few moments is greeted by a young woman. The woman briefly gapes at Laura before exchanging a few hushed words with the ticket counter.
"Is she really all by herself?"
"Seems so, says she's going to see her dad. Probably a hostile divorce and custody situation."
The woman rolls her eyes, "Some parents really need to learn to put their kids first."
Laura is then lifted up and carried into the train. She's led to a car that's clearly set up for children to play in. There are also children inside, some her own age and others who are a few years older than her.
