“Emily! Niko!” You yell almost happily, “h-how did you...” you look at Niko’s hand, he was holding a notebook, the same notebook you gave to Mia earlier.
“You have so much explaining to do!” Emily shouts at you. You step back, a little scared. It wasn’t unlike Emily to get angry, but you weren’t used to it being directed at you.
“Yeah, seriously, what the hell?” Niko asks you, in a serious yet less intense way,
“No no, I can explain. You already know about the ring,” you start, you see Emily looking at you in a frustrated way, her foot tapping impatiently, “I... I... Skylar took the ring at the pier and then we came here and Skylar got carried away and-”
“But why!?” Emily yelled at you, “why did you leave us... for her!?” She pointed at the pig, knowing full well it was Skylar, “she’s bullied us, tortured us! For years upon year, and suddenly you’re her ‘boyfriend’, so just... just why?” She finished in a less angry tone, more genuine and almost heartbroken,
“She wished that I love her. You know I wished that she loved me to begin with,”
“And you figured it out?” Niko asked,
“Well... yeah... we had a huge argument over it.”
“And...” they both said together,
“And what?”
“You didn’t wish you didn’t love her anymore!” Emily shouted again,
“N-no! No I didn’t. Because I do love her, and when I didn’t I felt shit and... it sounds clique but she made me happy, and worth something, and not loving her took something away and... it’s stupid, I know, and I’m sorry for leaving you. But I’m not apologising for our relationship,”
Niko looked at Emily. She was red with anger and frustration and... betrayal. He started off,
“I... and I can’t speak for both of us, but I guess... I forgive you,” Niko said, Emily looked over at him, the betrayal now going on both directions,
“WHAT!?” she screamed, “HOW CAN... you just... I just...” she couldn’t get her words out. She fell to her knees. At this point you couldn’t decide if she was being too dramatic or not, you still felt like you’d truly betrayed her friendship.
“Emily-” you start to say, she puts her hand out, signalling you to stop. You step back,
“I... I can’t forgive you. I don’t know how I could. And I know myself well enough that I won’t get over it,” Emily said, she held her hand out to Niko. He hesitated before realising what she wanted, “but... we do have a magic book, so I hope this works,”
You watch as she writes something in the book. Suddenly, her face lightens. Her body language loosens. She looks much more relaxed.
She bounces to her feet, still holding the book,
“I’m not happy about it, and honestly I don’t support it. But I’m open to meet her properly. To get a different view on it,” Emily says,
You’re shocked, but relived. She sorted it out so maturely, way different than usual. You were quite proud of her.
“Wait... where is she?” Niko asks.
You and Emily look into the living room of animals, spotting the pig wandering around aimlessly.
“Well, what do we about you?” You say, grabbing the pig and lifting her your face.
