As you came back into the garage with a watermelon, you spot your neighbor Emily walking her dog taking a look at the guillotine.
Emily was pretty hot, she was fairly tall for a woman (5'10") and was decently well-endowed (you couldn't tell cup size or anything by sight) with long, tan legs and tumbling red locks of hair. Her dog was some kind of mutt, a brown and black large friendly dog - kind of dumb though. You've dog-sat for Emily before so you knew her decently and knew the dog fairly well.
"Hey, what have you brought back here?" Emily asked, dipping her sunglasses below her eye level.
"Hey, Emily." You answered, "It's a... guillotine. I got it from an illusion shop."
"Cool." She said.
"Yeah, it was in a shop with a bunch of other magic illusions but I haven't been able to try it yet." You say, "I was about to try and cut this watermelon."
Emily smirked and got her dog to stick his head through the guillotine.
"Well, every magician needs a beautiful assistant, right? How about you try with Fido here first. I trust if its from a magic shop it should be safe." She says.
You weren't as brave as Emily, but you shrugged. It should be harmless... or at least not kill anyone. You had really wanted to try this with something inanimate first but Emily loved her dog and you figured the shop owner would've warned you not to try it if it was dangerous.
"Are you sure?" You ask as you prepare to pull the string.
Emily nodded. Max (the dog) stuck his head through with some prodding from Emily and flopped out his tongue happily. You grimaced but pulled the string.
The blade of the guillotine fell with a dull thud and Max pulled his doggy body back from the guillotine. Emily shrieked in terror and you looked in complete shock. The dog's body crashed around the garage (thankfully it didn't escape) before laying down. You both looked at each other until you realized you could hear a whimpering...
You looked on the other side of the guillotine and saw Max's head whimpering and whining in fear and confusion. You picked up the head and showed it to Emily, Emily went to the body and stroked it's neck... no blood. Not even any exposed flesh. In fact, there was just a thin covering of short fur and skin. As if the two pieces had never been connected. You stroke Max's ears to help calm him and his leg pulls up to scratch it in some phantom facsimile.
"I think he can still feel his body." You say.
"And he's still breathing... wow, this is amazing." Emily said, "This isn't just an illusion, is it?"
"Yeah... this is some hardcore real magic." You answered as you look at Max's eyes, "Sorry boy, I didn't know."
"You know... I think I want to try it." Emily said standing up suddenly.
"Are you serious?" You ask.
"Yeah, I mean how often does a girl get to try something like this?" She said, "No, I totally want to try this."
Emily got into the stocks after resetting the blade and stuck her own head through the lunette. You weren't scared of hurting her at all, but you still trembled in trepidation. You pull the cord and... the blade cleaved her head from her neck. Emily's body rose up and picked up her head.
"Here, hold this for a second and let me face myself." She said, giving you her head. You take it and let her face herself, Emily's body turns around and poses.
"Yup, I do have a really great ass..." She said with a musical chuckle.
You laughed.
"So, what do you think? You want to try it?" Emily asks.
You pause and think...
"No, the guillotine didn't come with instructions. It's kind of why I wanted to test it with watermelon first." You said sheepishly, "You could always try, just, sticking it back on. Either that or we'll have to go to the hospital."
Emily suppressed a chuckle but then tried it... and voila! Her hand was stuck back onto her arm, as if it had never been amputated in the first place.
"Wow! This is amazing!" She said, "Do you realize what this means?"
