Thing should have stayed here, and you should simply have been reborn as a new being without any memories of your past life, if it wasn't for people in yet another universe doing a hero-summoning ritual. Such ritual should normally only work on people that recently died in their home-world but, because Serra relied on souls that didn't belong to it, and often without the authorizations from the soul's world of origin nor any compensations, it wasn't rare to see someone on Serra suddenly dying because their soul was either recalled to its home-world or flung to yet another universe. Such souls often regained memories of their lives before coming to Serra.
On that point, you were lucky to be called to yet another world, Galea, just after being born on Serra, since it mean you didn't have any memories from a Serran life to confuse you. (Newborn babies don't remember anything.) The only thing you remembered was your life on earth and your little chat with the cleric.
Unlike on Serra, when a new hero was called to Galea, they would do so while still being the same age as they were in their old world, but their body could be changed according to their need. They were also given new talents to help them in their quest.
Since before dying on earth you were transgender, you now finally were an all natural woman. You gained a dark skin and long flowing white hairs. Galea also gave you a nice but no less comfortable dress. You were a bit disturbed, believing you were in Serra. Hadn't the cleric said you were about to be reincarnated as a newborn?
Before you could ponder much about it, peoples who spoke a strange language you were inexplicably able to understand pushed you toward an orb and forced your hand on it. The sphere flashed and what looked like a dog-tag appeared around your neck. One of the persons around you took it in a very specific way making some sort of holographic screens appear, making sure you saw how to do the same.
On that screen, you saw glyphs you never saw before but were still perfectly understanding, showing your stats like you were an RPG character. Your stats seemed rather hight for someone level 1, but lower than could be achieved by normal peoples of higher level. You also noticed the job ‘Minstrel [Dancer/Bard]’ and two special skills being listed: "Song of Healing" & "Dance of Esquive". But rather than your stats and skills, what held back the eyes of the peoples around you was your species, listed as Ryūgen.
You didn't know it back then, but while that world used to have dragons, someday a change in the environment caused them to slowly fade into a bloodthirsty madness. The still sane ones used their magic to turn their body into something identical to a human one. Generations passed and while the mad dragons had devolved into wyverns, the others became ryūgens, a species undistinguishable from humans, if it wasn't for their ability to temporarily turn into a dragon of old during a dangerous enough battle.
While the early generations of ryūgens lived in peace with humans, who still remembered how the dragons of old had been loyal allies to the point hybrid couple were far from unheard of, with times peoples forgot not only this, but also that if the ryūgens couldn't turn into a dragon whenever they want and only for a limited time, all thanks to the ritual that turned the dragons of old into the firsts ryūgens, to protect them and their decedents from the madness. Nowadays ryūgens were feared and often hunted down to ‘protect’ the other species from their ‘inevitable future madness’. (A point made even more sad by the fact that, since a couple years back, humans started to also hunt every sapient being that aren't their own kind, suddenly declaring that if it was sapient without being human, it could only be a demon.)
So, the humans that had summoned you to put an end to the demon-lord tyranny suddenly turned on you. They tried to kill you, coming at you from all side, but thanks to your Dance of Esquive skill, you were able to evade all their attack and flee the castle…
