"Huh, why not." She shrugged, placing it on her left hand.
Stacy started back on her walk to practice when her cell rung from inside her bag. She pulled it out and sighed.
"Great, a call from Mom." She mumbled before answering.
"Hey Ma." She answered, forcing a new chipper tone in her voice. "How's your day going?" She asked.
Her mother had originally been having a good, but as soon as Stacy asked her reality changed so that it was the exact opposite.
"Ugh, Terrible Stacy. I got a parking ticket, had to clean out the break station at work, AND now I have a work meeting that I am totally unprepared for." She complained.
"Oh shit." Stacy mumbled.
"Yeah, so, I decided to give you a quick call since I don't want any more surprises today. You still remember you're picking up your little brother Jim at band practice later, and you need to do your chores that I know you haven't finished." She nagged. "Oh! Don't forget to walk Ruby too." She added.
Stacy was pissed. Just because her mom was having a bad day didn't mean she had to make her day miserable. Stacy wanted to bite back, but decided to just stick to sarcasm to avoid any major argument.
"Mom, relax I'm..." She began.
