Meanwhile, another adjustment was being made as part of the agreement. Earlier that day the Cafeteria staff had been given a special notice, for the next six months they'd continue to get paid but would not actually have to come to work. For most of the student body this went unnoticed, until the lunch bell rang. When students filed in, they were surprised by the strange rich smells which wafted forth and the odd selection of fruits, pies, breads, dumplings, glowing bottles and more which replaced the usual selection of sandwiches, burgers, fries, wilted salads and similar that had been there before. The same went for the staff as there were a set of lavender skinned chefs manning the grill.
Prince Remilas went forward and selected from the selection, pleased at what was available and took a few choice items. Others looked over the strange fare with curiosity at first before tentatively taking examples. You look at one of the cooks who's proud of his creations.
"So you are here because of the Prince?"
"Of course young master." One of them replies "We are from the Royal Kitchen. It will not do to feed His Highness anything other than the best. What do you desire?"
"Something...savory?" You ask.
"Very well..." the Elven Chef runs you through several dishes with names you've never heard besides the occasional mention of 'tart', 'bread' or 'infusion'. Eventually your tray is filled with a few odd dishes in with that and a bottle of something and he seems satisfied.
"We'll refine your palate soon enough." He said. You slink off and settle in at a table. To be fair, the food is good. Light, but flavorful with each dish playing off each other well. An opinion which a fair number of the student body feels is the same. Sooner than you'd liked you found that his lunch was gone, but on the same note you also feel quite satisfied. When you look to see the Prince you notice that he is taking his time with the meal, eating things slowly and carefully. Probably a good idea for tomorrow.
As you leave, you notice something odd: a couple people seem to have pastel highlights in their hair.
