Neela found herself sprinting through the streets. The young teen/school nurse found herself with a rare day off and now wanted to find her friend Ewart.
Unlike the other teenage prodigies, Neela's parents wanted the girl to continue with her education leaving her with little free time. This meant Neela was still taking classes for med school, despite her protests. Fortunately for her today's classes had been canceled, meaning Neela had a free afternoon.
As Neela now caught her breath, she grinned as she saw her friends at the playground the frequented. As she was about to join them, she paused. "Whose the kid," she thought.
Neela now curiously gazed at the white haired Asian girl happily talking with her friends. The Indian teen at first thought the others might be babysitting, those thoughts changed though as she saw the girl transform.
Neela watched as the little girl began to change, snow white fur began to cover her body, her face stretching into a muzzle while a single fox tail emerged from behind. Neela gasped as the girl squatted down becoming a snow white fox.
Neela's curiosity now got the best of her as she ran towards her friends. "Ewart what is going on?!"
Ewart and the others turned, surprised to see their friend out on a school day. "Neela what are you doing here," Ewart asked. "Arent you supposed to be in class?"
"Class got cancelled," she responded as she approached her friend. Frowning she now punched Ewart in the arm. "What's going on and why didnt you tell me about this?!"
Ewart groaned rubbing the sore spot on this arm. "Ow that hurt," he whined. "What makes you think I didnt tell you about Sachiko?"
"Because you've been acting extra weird doofus," Neela exclaimed. "And you just told me this foxes name! You know for a genius you can be really stupid."
Sachiko watched as the two young teens began to argue. Turning she could see the other teens simply sigh. "What's with those two," she asked.
"That's Neela," Gail stated. "Shes Ewarts best friend. They've known eachother forever."
"Why are they fighting?"
"Because they have a huge crush on eachother," Pam giggled. "And despite being geniuses have no clue how to say it."
Sachiko simply gave the two a curious look, unsure if she liked this Neela girl. Stella could sense Sachikos apprehension, feeling the need to clarify. "Neela is actually a really sweet girl," she said. "We all went to college together. She's still going to medical school though so we dont see her as often. Her and Ewart though grew up next door to eachother, they get along really well."
"Until they started crushing on eachother," Gail snickered. "Since then the two seem to argue more."
"Why dont they like eachother," Sachiko asked.
"They like eachother ALOT," Pam stated. "But they're both being real weird about it. Guess they're having problems sorting out their feelings."
Sachiko simply nodded, love was weird.
As Sachiko and her friends now hangout, they failed to notice two individuals watching from the nearby woods. "What are we doing here Luke?"
Luke turned towards the newer Normal agent Greg. After the failure of the acquisition team the Boss had sent them to gather intelligence on the ghost fox. The two Normal agents were to conduct reconnaissance and nothing else. The Boss didnt want a repeat from the last encounter.
"The Boss wants us to spy on this ghost fox," Luke whispered. "Now keep your voice down, we got want to end up like Gamma team."
Greg shuddered, he had seen the footage of the failed mission. While he hadn't known the team well, he had seen them around. "I still dont get why the Boss is so interested in this thing," Greg muttered.
"Because this ghost goes against everything the Normal stands for," Luke muttered. "That's why he wants us to study her. Gather Intel on her and these friends of hers."
Greg simply shrugged, still unsure. As he was about to ask another question he gasped as a dagger landed in between the two of them. The duo now spun in place, noticing first a woman in a blue veil, followed by a dark orange anthro fox with nine tails. The nine tails now moved at supernatural speed, grasping the two men by the throat.
"I see the Normal have taken interest in the kitsune," Fukushu growled, tightening his grip. The two Normals were unable to respond, the kitsunes iron grip choking away their words.
"Shall we dispose of them Fukushu," Abolith asked as she unsheathed her sword.
Fukushu narrowed his brow as she gave the two an icy glare. Every instinct told him he should end these two mortals, yet their was a nagging feeling. He had walked this road of revenge before, lashed out to satiate its appetite. Each time he found his enemies grow in strength. He would not make that mistake this time.
Releasing the two agents from his grip, he watched as they crumpled to the ground, gasping for air. "Tell your master this kitsune is under my protection," he growled. "Any actions taken against my kind shall bring my wrath down upon them. Now leave!"
Luke and Greg now scrambled to their feet, sprinting away like spooked rabbits. "Why did you let them live my love," Abolith asked.
"Far to often I have struck back at my enemies only to increase their strength," Fukushu stated. "Perhaps a warning will suffice this time."
"And if it doesn't?"
Fukushu grinned maliciously as he now watched Sachiko and the others. "Then we shall tear down the Normal root and stem," he said. "As long as I draw breath no kitsune shall be harmed by these fanatics. Let them destroy the wizards instead."
Abolith simply nodded as the two continued to watch Sachiko. The two would watch carefully to see how things played out.
