With her hopes high Christina hit the “Post Chapter” button on the site. Her chapter uploaded she waited one moment, two, three, for something, anything to happen, but nothing did. The woman felt relieved, but also a bit disappointed that nothing happened. About to close the tab she accidentally hit the logo in the upper left corner and was instead redirected to the main page of “Choose Your Own Change”. It was there that she noticed a red popup saying she got 1 unread message. Wondering who this message could be from (and why it wasn't displayed in the “Interactives”-section) she opened it.
Weirdly enough the sender was just listed as “CYOC”, but even weirder was the message itself.
“Your wish will be fulfilled, but be aware that if you want to become part of CYOC, you have to be ready to be subjected to all of its stories. From now on the writers will decide what branch you will become a part of and what will happen to you and, more importantly, your body. We hope that you will enjoy what you signed up for.”
Christina reread the message just to be sure, but that didn't help her understand what anything in that mysterious DM meant. Suddenly a bright light shined out of her PC and enveloped the confused woman. Shielding her eyes barely helped and somehow she was starting to lose the feeling in parts of her body. When the light finally waned, the woman had disappeared.
Christina suddenly found herself falling through a mysterious void. Colored in grey and shades of brown and beige (it somehow reminded her of the layout of the CYOC site) there were several written words flying past her. Another bright light enveloped the woman again. This time Christina felt her body harmlessly landing somewhere and when the light faded she found herself…
