"Boy!"
Caleb removed his headphones as he heard his father yell. "What is it pop?"
"Did you get in a fight with a kitsune?"
Caleb furrowed his brow as he glared at the tiny nude speck standing on his father's shoulder. "Spark," he grumbled.
"What its not my fault," Spark exclaimed. "Your old man figured it out on his own. Besides he threatened to take my Gamestation for a week if I didnt fess up."
Caleb sighed as he gazed up at Jacobs stern visage. "Okay dad yeah," he said. "But they came at us first. We were just conducting reconnaissance when they attacked. By the way did you know their allied with imp familiar and a succubus."
"I heard," Jacob said softly. "Things are a bit more complicated than I thought round here. But thats not the issue, you two got lucky."
"Please," Spark scoffed. "I clapped all three of their cheeks and Caleb here handled himself like a pro."
Jacob could only frown, true his son and Spark were quite capable however, kitsune and demons were notorious for holding grudges. If they found out who Caleb was it could lead to problems in the uneasy partnership he was forming with the wizards.
"Look dad," Caleb stated. "I kept my face covered and the fight didn't last long enough for them to I.D me. I know were trying to be lowkey, which is why we took off immediately after covering our tracks. Trust me."
Jacob could only rub his chin thoughtfully. Hopefully this little incident wouldn't snowball into something bigger.

Miro frowned, placing his goblet of virgins blood on the table. It appeared that a sizable wizard community existed in this small town. Couple that with rumors of the Moreland family and the vampire lord was indeed concerned. "Are you certain of the Morelands?"
"Yes Lord Tepes," Donovan stated. "My spies are certain they have seen both Jacob and his son. I believe them."
"What of the rumors of anti magical suits?"
"Those rumors were true Lord Tepes," Hannibal stated. "However that technology is lost. My familiar and I investigated ourselves. They had developed something but it has been lost. I even had Dominique hack into their systems. Any trace of the project has been destroyed, we will be unable to use it on our endeavors."
"Pity," Miro stated. "It would have been useful. However, perhaps the old ways are best." Miro now stood looking over his generals.
"Our kind have always used humans as both cattle and foot soldiers. We shall turn parts of this town, use them to wear down our adversaries, before delivering a crippling blow." As the generals agreed, Miro gestured towards Hannibal. "You stated to me upon your return that their were those at this company that were aware of magic?" Hannibal nodded as his lord smirked.
"Have Dominique infiltrate these offices," Miro stated. "Perhaps there are those within these offices that can offer us a weakness we can exploit."

Lisa double checked her grocery list as she pushed her shopping cart up the aisle. With Gloria working, Lisa now found herself taking Lynne with her everywhere. Thankfully the toddler was easy to deal with, even if she did try to have her mother buy every treat in the store.
"Dat one," Lynne exclaimed, her chubby fingers pointing at a box of cookies. "No baby," Lisa chuckled. "Not today." Lynne folded her arms across her chest, frowning as her mother.
As Lisa and Lynne made their way to the next aisle she paused as they nearly collided with a woman.
"Oh sorry," Lisa stated.
"No worries," the woman stated. As she glanced at Lynne a warm smile spread across her face. "Your daughter is quite the cutey."
"Thanks," Lisa smiled. "Shes quite the handful. Usually don't take her shopping with me but since her sister started working she's been attached to my hip."
"Remember those days," the woman chuckled. "When my sons were babies I always ended up bringing them with me. Needless to say ended up with at least a dozen items I had no intention of buying."
The two women now chuckled before exchanging a kind smile.
"Nina Moreland," Nina said extending her hand.
"Lisa Turner," Lisa responded. "Havent seen you around town before."
"We just moved in," Nina stated. "My husbands work means we travel alot. Hopefully we settle down for a bit this time."
"Well Nina," Lisa stated. "It was a pleasure meeting you. Hope to see you around."
"Same," Nina smiled. As the two women departed, they immediately felt a liking for one another, having no idea what the others families were capable of.
