Simply put the world the stories that are derived from this chapter takes place in a world very similar to our own with one main exception. Whatever is typed in these cyoc happens. As some of the more astute of you have noticed cyoc exists in our world, and likewise the website also exists within this new world. However whether or not the subjects being written about are aware of this site is irrelevant to it's effect on them.
For example if I write that the President of the United States turns into a baby girl right now then currently there's a baby girl in the Oval office. Since there was more people in the Oval office with the president right now, and a commotion is being caused I suppose I should change him back by writing that the President turns back to normal however that wont change the commotion. Now it looks like their spy network is looking into the change so to hide this power from government abuse I can just write something like. No major powers or governments can ever find this site. So now they can't ever find this site... Unless someone writes in that the government finds this site or something like that, but currently that is a false statement.
