The woman snapped her fingers. Both boys blinked their eyes.
"Well dears, thanks for stopping by." the old woman intoned. Both boys just muttered a quiet farewell as they stumbled out of the house and onto the remainder of their day.
The following day the boys were hanging out at Jason's house when Daniel randomly blurted "I think we should go visit that old woman next door. Make sure she's settling in alright." Jason was about to shoot down his friend's idea, but instead found himself agreeing.
Shortly thereafter the two found themselves at the old woman's house. Before they could knock, the woman opened her door. "Oh, come to check on me I see. Oh how sweet!" the woman said before disappearing into the house. "For such a sweet gesture, you two deserve a sweet treat. Here, take these. Don't eat them all at once mind you. Save some for your friends and family as well."
A moment later the woman came back with a couple packages of cookies. "Here you are dears. Enjoy!"
As with their previous visit, the boys took the cookies, just mumbling thanks in response. The old woman watched and cackled "Yes, enjoy your gifts boys. Heehee"
