Marshall looked around the nursery for something he could use to occupy himself. His eyes landed on a pacifier. He got to his feet and toddled over to it. With a shrug, he popped it into his mouth. A sense of calm washed over him immediately. All his frustration was melting away as he suckled.
Now in a much better mood, Marshall decided to investigate the nursery. He wandered around the room, noting various toddler and baby supplies. So distracted by the pacifier, he didn’t even realize he was peeing himself as he walked.
Marshall could feel his eyelids growing heavier. He needed to sleep. But the crib was out of his reach. After some thought, Marshall pushed a box up against the changing table and used it as a stool. Once on the changing table, it was easy enough for him to climb into the crib right next to it.
To his delight, the crib already had a blanket and teddy bear in it. Marshall happily curled up underneath the blanket, squeezing the teddy bear tightly and sucking on his pacifier.
