Christmastime is meant to be spent with family. But sometimes, people don't have families. Or they're not close to them, physically or emotionally. Or perhaps they've already spent time with them and they just want to have some fun on their own. For these reasons and possibly others, they were drawn to the Christmas party that was being held at the Meat Market. It turned out to be a particularly busy night for the bouncers as so many underaged people were trying to get in with fake IDs. It was hard to say why this particular holiday as opposed to Halloween when people would have good reason to be wearing disguises. Still, it was enough to make some stirs (and counter-stirs) on the internet.
Inside the Meat Market, the place was festooned with the expected holiday trappings. There were plenty of wreaths and ribbons around, though there was a particular abundance of mistletoe hanging just about everywhere. There wasn't much Christmas music playing as few songs would suit the atmosphere of a stripclub. And there was a constant reminder that this was a stripclub, considering the workers were wearing what were basically red satin swimsuits with white faux fur trim.
The dancers on stage also had a festive theme going on with what little clothing they were wearing. Sometimes, it looked like they were just wearing pieces of wrapping paper. Of course, some dancers were able to get into the spirit of the holiday a little more than others. The most popular dancers on the stage this night were Holly and hir fellow herm reindeer. The reindeer were considered sexy beasts throughout the year, whether one prefers men or women. But something about the holiday made them a bit more irresistible than usual. There have been quite a few requests to join the herm herd, most often after people have had enough drinks. These requests would be taken into consideration later after the requesters have sobered up. After all, conversions shouldn't be done lightly as they are a one-way change.
Despite what some people may think, Animalians are capable of getting drunk. It's just that with their new taste buds, they find most alcoholic drinks to be too bitter and unpalatable. They didn't have as much trouble with the sweeter liquors. And for those who were more interested in getting drunk than tasting the drink (mainly to forget a particularly embarrassing thing), they can quaff down enough of any hard drink to give them the buzz they needed. Though some may have trouble getting started.
"Don't tell me that drinking was against your sect's beliefs," said Ki-ko to her girlfriend, "Besides, aren't you trying to distance yourself from that?"
"It wasn't really one of our tenants," said Evelyn, "Not specifically. But my father used to rave on and on about how 'alcohol poisons both body and soul and makes you unclean'."
Ki-ko rolled her eyes and said, "With your old sect, the only thing you can do that wasn't 'unclear' is sit in a corner and gather dust."
"It wasn't that bad," said Evelyn.
"It was bad enough to twist your mind and make you target and harm other lesbians," said Ki-ko.
"I thought we were past that," said Evelyn in a hurt tone.
"Sorry, sorry, shouldn't have brought that up," said Ki-ko, "I was just proving a point that you don't have to bound to their rules. Have fun, live life, it's not a sin to seek enjoyment. Except when you do it excessively."
Evelyn nodded and said, "It's just hard to break a lifetime of habits."
"Anyone is capable of changing, if they really want to," said Ki-ko before looking around, "Speaking of which, I'm not seeing one of your fellow reformees here."
"Who? Hector?" asked Evelyn.
"No, the bat," said Ki-ko.
"Oh, Mercy will probably be here next night with her boyfriend," said Evelyn.
"Boyfriend?" asked Ki-ko, "So, the kid's finally won her over."
"Zack's 18," said Evelyn.
"For the moment," said Ki-ko.
"He's proven himself to be more than a smitten fanboy," said Evelyn, "He really does care about Mercy as a person and I think he's earned to live happily ever after with her."
"Mercy's not so bad, really," said Ki-ko, "At least she didn't have to be forced to go through those humiliating punishments like you and Heather."
"Yeah, definitely wouldn't want to do that again," said Evelyn.
"So, you wouldn't want a little candy to spice up-" started Ki-ko.
"I've had my fill of that, thanks," said Evelyn, "And I don't need candy to get me aroused and in the mood, especially not with you."
"I'll take that as a compliment," said Ki-ko.
