Janet decided to pick up the Alice in Wonderland book and start reading it like she originally planned. However, after reading a few sentences, Janet found herself losing interest in the story really fast and not wanting to keep going.
"How strange. For some reason I don't want to read this book anymore. In fact, I feel rather bored by it." Janet said to herself, still speaking like a 19th century british girl probably would have.
Janet tried reading the book again, only to continue to get bored by it. When she tried reading a third time, Janet finally understood what was happening to her.
"That's it! In the story, Alice didn't want to read from a book with no pictures in it. And now that I have her characteristics, I no longer want to read anything without pictures in it as well. Oh bother, why don't I ever think these things through?"
Janet felt very unhappy about losing her ability to enjoy reading books without pictures in them and was now on the verge of tears. Fortunately, she stopped herself from crying like a little girl.
"Calm yourself Janet! You must stop it this minute I tell you! What would Miss Alice think if she saw you like this? Besides, none of this is truly permanent. You'll just have to come up with something else to do in the meantime."
Janet calmed down and started to brush herself all over, making sure she had a proper appearance. As she petted her head, Janet suddenly realized that she forgot to change something else about herself.
"Goodness, I still have my original hairstyle and color. How can I possibly be Alice if I still have my old look?"
Janet then ran back to the main hallway and stood in front of the mirror once more. She then stared concentrating on changing her hairstyle to match that of the disney animated Alice's. As the amulet glowed, Janet saw her hair color change from light brown to blonde. Then her hair lengthen a bit down her upper back and became smoothed and shiny. Finally her front bangs moved away from her face, leaving a gap on her forehead.
"Ah, much better. There's just one more thing I need to alter before I forget."
Janet concentrated and the amulet glowed again, this time changing her eye color from dark brown to blue. Afterwards, Janet checked herself over to make sure she got everything.
"Perfect, now I look just like Alice in Wonderland."
