Nina groaned as she now poured herself a cup of coffee. If this is what having a teenage daughter was like, she was happy that she had sons.
Spark had gone full on obnoxious teenager over the last week. Anytime Spark entered the room Nina could see the tiny fairy scowl at her before calling her Mrs. Moreland. She had gotten so annoyed she finally had her husband go and talk with her. "How did it go," she asked.
Jacob shrugged, rubbing his neck with his hand. "Well," he said slowly. "You certainly pissed her off honey. What did you say?"
"That she should slow down and that Connors feelings could change over time."
"No wonder she's mad," Jacob chuckled. "Pretty sure you should never say that."
Nina was utterly befuddled at this point. Growing up she had been the oldest with younger brothers to care for. She had been a tomboy, a farm girl, the kind of girl who ran and played with boys all throughout her childhood. She had never been into makeup or dresses. She wasn't even interested in boys romantically until she was in her teens. She needed help.
A knock at the door now had Nina hurrying towards the door. Throwing it open, Nina smiled as she now saw Lisa Turner. "Thanks for coming over."
"No problem Nina," Lisa smiled. "I'm glad you called. I wanted to apologize for the Christmas party."
"Its no problem," Nina chuckled. "It was kind of fun. I mean, not everyday you get to relive your childhood or see Santa."
Lisa laughed, nodding in response. "Okay the Santa thing was definitely different," she stated. "And yeah, reliving your childhood can be alot fun sometimes. I just hate that it was dropped on all of us accidentally."
"Its fine," Nina smiled. "Who knows, maybe we can do that again sometime. But, I needed your help with something."
"Okay how can I help," Lisa asked.
As Nina was about to speak, the two women noticed Spark now fly into the room. Nina glanced over at the tiny nude, Spark certainly had a sour look on her face as she scowled at Nina. What was becoming more apparent was Sparks changes.
Nina had begun to notice things about Spark. The fairy appeared thinner, her adult body beginning to look more lithe and teenage in appearance. Sparks face also appeared to be rounding, looking more youthful as well. If Nina were to guess her age she would say she looked to be in her early twenties.
"Mrs. Moreland," Spark grumbled. "Having a book club meeting?"
"Just chatting with a friend," Nina sighed. Spark gave Lisa a stiff nod before grabbing a drink and floating out if the room. Lisa now raised an eyebrow as she looked between Nina and the fairy. "So whats up with her?"
"Shes fallen in love with my youngest," Nina sighed. "And its changing her into a teenager."
"Wait that happen," Lisa exclaimed.
"With fairies," Nina shrugged. "And I have no idea how to deal with teenage girls. Really could use some advise Lisa. I have no idea how tobdeal with teenage girls."
"Well what were you like as a teen Nina?"
"A tomboy," Nina said. "I have no experience with teenage girls. Hell, the first boy that kissed me I punched in the face."
"Seriously," Lisa laughed. "You punched your first kiss! How old were you?"
"Thirteen," Nina replied sheepishly. "Eli Warner. Nice kid I used to hang around with. He caught me off guard and I gave him a blackeye. My folks sat me down afterwards to have 'the talk' but I remember the look on my pa's face. He was proud for sure."
Lisa laughed harder, finding the story before hilarious and endearing. Nina certainly had a different upbringing than she did. "Well I can try to give some advice. I mean my oldest Katie went through this and I helped Jason with Gloria. Hopefully we can put our heads together to come up with something."
