Lisa and Nina, farm work and "bonding"

added A year ago O

Young Lisa and Nina headed out to the barnyard where most of the animals were. Lisa looked around at all the animals and realized how easy she had it with just daughters at home, Nina had two boys and entire farm to look out for.

"So, what's the closest thing you've done to farm work?" Nina asked as she went over and grabbed two pails for them.

"Uh....does watching that movie about the pig who wants to be a sheep dog count?" Lisa asked rubbing her neck.

"Nope, but good movie. I did really love how it showed the timelessness of farm life." Nina said as she went to a barrel of food that looked days old and scooped it up.

"Oh god...what is all this?" Lisa asked covering her nose.

"Well, that's week old lettuce, that's some tomatoes that Connor and Caleb didn't finish eating for dinner the other night, there's some steak that Jacob couldn't finish because he got a tiny stomach ache...." Nina explained almost babbling on.

"Nina! Why do you have all this here?" Lisa clarified her question.

"Oh, it's for the pigs to eat. They'll eat any type of food, that's where the term 'you eat like a pig' came from you know." Nina explained as she dumped the leftover food into a feeder with Lisa following her lead.

Nina then led Lisa over to the cows to milk them, Lisa sprayed herself with udder milk by accident and knew she'd be smelling like cow for the rest of the day. Lisa then showed Nina the rabbits they had to feed and Lisa found them all to be adorable. The girls then went to let the chickens out and Lisa was surprised at how many the Moreland's had at all. Nina and Lisa also collected some of the eggs after they let the chickens out, though Lisa accidentally broke one or two to her utter embarrassment.

Lisa and Nina then went into the barn where they began brushing the horse's manes with brushes.

"Man, I don't think I could've survived lifetime of farm work, let alone a week, thank god Spark's spell is just for the day. Still, it's probably almost the end of the day, isn't it?" Lisa asked as Nina looked at her watch.

"Nope, we've only been out here for one hour." Nina answered as she went back to brushing.

"What?! All that farm work and it's only been one hour? Nina didn't you ever you know do....fun stuff on the farm?" Lisa asked.

"What do you mean? This is fun."

"No I mean like...ride horses, or play pretend like being a knight or a princess?" Lisa asked.

"Pfft, who wants to pretend to be a princess? All that girly stuff like make up, wearing dresses and waiting around for some guy you barely know to rescue you and then immediately marry them even though you don't know anything about them? Yeah definitely not for me." Nina shook her head.

"What's wrong with wanting to be a princess? You get to wear beautiful dresses, you're treated like royalty..." Lisa listed off.

"You're being told what to wear, you constantly have people following your every movie like the paparazzi..." Nina listed with a smirk.

"Well I never dreamed about smelling like swine for the whole day, or getting sprayed with cow milk, and having the animals try and peck me." Lisa argued.

"Yeah, but it's the idyllic life, not some fairy tale life that's never going to happen." Nina argued back.

"All fairy tales have a happy ending, you hill billy hick!"

"City snob!"

"Beverly hillbilly!"

"Princess Wanna be, but never gonna be!" Nina shouted back at her.

Lisa then leapt onto her and the two of them began fighting in the hay, as Nina pulled Lisa's hair and the two of them hit each other but only with their palms, and tore some of their shirts off. Nina and Lisa then took up and looked at each other and began to snicker and then let out a loud laugh with each other.

"God, I haven't had fights like that since I was a high school girl with my sisters!" Lisa said between laughs.

"I've never had a sister to fight with, ma and pa always told my brother's 'no hitting your sister'." Nina said as she stuck her arm around Lisa's shoulder.

"Yeah, but I'll bet you could hit them!" Lisa guessed as Nina pointed, laughed, and nodded her head.

"Oh man, Lisa, I wish I met you years earlier, we would've been the best of friends." Nina said punching her in the shoulder.

"I bet, I bet I would've had a lot of arm bruises too." Lisa said as the two of them shook off their little fight and got back to chores.
