You make it to the boat and get on with Lou and your baby boy. As the boat goes along you notice yourself getting weaker. Everything begins returning to normal.
As the boat goes along you and Lou read more of the pamphlet you picked up. You realize that the reason you got bigger and stronger was that the cigars aged you to be old enough to be typical parents--just as Lou became an older woman temporarily, you became an older man. Once everything was over, you changed back.
This was good in a way, since now at least people will recognize you. And you have the box of cigars. You clutch the box because it's your only means of proving you're not insane when you tell them about your baby. All you have to do is give one person a blue cigar and another person a pink one. They'll become a man and woman, no matter what sex or age they were originally, they'll be together in bed--you still don't know if they have to have sex or if it's just instant magic--they'll have a baby in an hour, and they'll change back.
You get dropped off on the beach. You walk up to the street and you and Lou catch a bus to take the baby home. After discussing it, you decide to tell your family first.
"Dad, I'm home!" you yell.
Your father walks into the hallway and looks at you, puzzled. "Why are you carrying a baby?"
"It's mine," you say. "And Lou here is the mother."
"Very funny," he says.
"No, really!" you reply, handing him the pamphlet.
He reads through it...
