One.
"Maybe I threw it too far," Tom suggested.
"Shut up and read your card," Dave said. The lion was now lying belly to the floor and resting his head on his forepaws, obviously trying hard to mimic a state of utter boredom. The others knew Dave was actually enjoying the fact that someone other than him had to suffer from the effects of the red dice.
Tom trotted over to the stack and picked up the card. Holding onto it at both ends required the six-inch centaur to stand with arms spread almost as wide as he could get them, causing the enormous card itself to be too close to his face to read. Frustrated, he threw it onto the board and looked down at its writing.
Get real lucky you just might
And acquire some more height.
All you simply have to do
Is choose one sitting next to you.
"So, either Sue or Hannah?" Tom guessed. Though he had spent much of the game standing on the board itself, he had begun it sitting between the two girls. "Does that mean I'll get their height and they'll get mine?"
"We'll find out, once you choose one," Dave said, a clearly anxious tone in his voice.
