Yuriko stretched blinking as the sun shone into her room. It had certainly been an eventful weekend.
A visit from her granddaughter, the discovery she would be a great grandmother, and her family reconnecting with magic brought the old wizard great joy. Yet the universe always needed to find balance and in Yurikos case that balance meant a pair of old foes now called Yurikos home their own.
Yuriko couldn't believe what Shizen had told her, for the first time in eons a new pair of celestial kitsune existed. These kitsune it turned out had been created by Yurikos own student, the Catalyst. As Yuriko now made her way to the kitchen, she gazed at a sight she felt would become quite familiar over her remaining years.
Akira, Ayami, and Rexie now sat at the table per usual, joining them now were Abolith and Fukushu. Old enemies now wearily glanced at one another as they ate. "Well this is certainly different."
Yuriko now glanced at Dashon, a small smirk spreading across her face. "You certainly have a way of pointing out the obvious Dashon," she said. "How's Yuna?"
Dashon rubbed his neck sheepishly, glancing at the elderly wizard. "Well not sure if it was her or the baby but everything was levitating in the room last night. And I mean EVERYTHING! Clothes, the bed, me."
"Bound to happen," Yuriko grinned. "Actually its fairly mild from what I've heard. Apparently my sister in law Lynne would transform her parents and aunts when she was in utero."
As the two now made their way to the table, the others now eyed them. Akira, Ayami, and Rexie giving her a polite smile while Abolith and Fukushu remained indifferent. "Good morning Yuriko,: Akira stated.
"Akira, Ayami, how are you?"
"Adjusting," Ayami sighed, the angel now glancing towards the living room. Sachiko and Raiden now happily watched television. The kits still oblivious to their nature. "Yuriko are you positive about what Shizen said?"
"My mother has no reason to lie," Fukushu stated. "And she trusts Yuriko far more than any of us here."
"Which is why we are going to visit her," Yuriko replied. "All of us."
"Are you sure thats wise wizard," Abolith asked icely. "Fukushu and I are not exactly welcome."
"I think things may have changed thanks to the kits," Yuriko stated. "Regardless the kits need to see their future kingdom. That is why we are going this morning."
"Without Darren," Ayami asked.
"He has school and this is too important," Yuriko stated. "We depart for the kitsune kingdom this morning."
A quick breakfast and shower now found Yuriko and the others in her backyard. The elderly wizard gazing upon Ren's mausoleum as she thought over the nature of the kits. "Grandma how are you going to get to the kitsune," Yuna asked. "You told me they sealed the portal after the attack."
"They did however we have two kitsune who can open the portal."
"I can't open the portal Yuriko," Akira stated. "You know I don't know that spell and even if I did my magic is not potent enough."
"And my family made sure to keep me from having access," Fukushu stated. "I was only able to enter the kingdom after the Normal breeched the seal."
"You aren't the kitsune I'm talking about," Yuriko smirked, pointing towards the two kits playing. Akira and Fukushu now gawked, both casting a dubious look at the old wizard.
"You can't be serious," Akira stated. "Sachiko knows only the most basic of spells."
"And Raiden does not have the skill to perform such a feat," Fukushu added.
Yuriko simply smiled, her eyes narrowing as she gazed at the two kitsune. "I believe the kits do. All I ask is that you let me help them take that first step towards their destiny."
Akira and Fukushu now turned to eachother before glancing at Yuriko. Whether they wished it or not Yuriko would need to help the kits in not only learning magic but controlling it. The two now turned to Yuriko, giving the wizard a slight nod.
Yuriko smiled as she approached the two kits, happily playing in the yard. Neither kit having yet been told of what their true nature was. Yuriko, for one, would not be the one to divulge that information. That duty would fall to Shizen when she so chose. For now though she would simply teach the kits magic. "What are you two up to?"
"Just playing Granny Yuriko," Sachiko smiled. Yuriko simply smiled, savoring the kits innocence. "I have a new game would you both like to play?"
Sachiko and Raiden nodded, the two kits eagerly running to Yurikos side. "What game are we going to play Ms. Yuriko," Raiden asked.
"I'm going to show you two a trick," Yuriko said happily. "We are going to open a magic door."
"Your going to let us use magic," Sachiko exclaimed happily. Yuriko nodded, hugging the two kits tightly. "Yes I am are you ready?"
The two kits nodded, Yuriko now telling the two kits to do as she did. Thankfully both kits were not only excellent mimics as well as magical in nature. Aa they now began to chant the spell, the others watched in stunned silence as slowly a portal began to open.
"This is hard," Raiden grunted.
"You're doing great Raiden keep going," Yuriko stated. "We're almost there."
Raiden and Sachiko continued to push forward, thw kits taking eachothers hand as they now forced thw portal larger. Grimacing the two kits now focused, watching in astonishment as a city now began to form within the portal.
"Very good," Yuriko said happily as the spell completed. "Very good, you did wonderfully. Now let's step through."
Taking the kits hands Yuriko now beckoned the others to follow. As they stepped through the kits gasped in wonder as Yuriko studied her surroundings.
The kitsune were still rebuilding, signs of construction everywhere as kitsune busied themselves with daily life. While Sachiko and Raiden gazed at their surroundings in wonder, Fukushu and Abolitb remained cautious studying the land of the kitsune carefully.
"Its so pretty," Raiden said in awe.
"Thats right you've never seen it," Sachiko replied, the snow white kit stepping forward as she raised her arms. "This is the land of the kitsune."
Raiden simply smiled, happy to see Raiden was so taken by it. Someday he would rule this land, for now though she would let the kit observe the wonders of this land.
