Holsteiner calls for the riders that he tasks to look around to mount back up and to return to formation. They proceed to return to their positions in the formation, as you ride on to the place that you will be putting up camp. As you ride on, you can’t shake the thoughts of what you saw, and keep wondering just what happened back there and where six members of the squad went. People don’t just disappear, and there hasn’t been any signs that anyone wanted to desert. But you can’t rule it out either.
As you ride into a small wood line off of the road you hear Holsteiner call for a halt, you then hear him say this is where we will be staying on a mission to observe and report. As you are dismounting off of (Insert Horse Name) you can hear someone say that there is a stream nearby. But Holsteiner quickly reminds them to be careful of it as we do not know what may be feeding into it upstream. He adds, I only recommend that two people go and fill a couple of buckets full to cool down the horses with. But only go after we have everything set up first. I think that storm is going to be here much sooner than we expected.
You and Private Jackson drop your bags in the same spot before dismounting and letting your mounts be collected. You pull out your entrenching tool and start digging out a two man fighting position as Jackson starts grabbing branches to help mask the position. From this position you can watch the road and not be seen. After grabbing some branches and leaves Jackson returns to your position and starts to help you dig.
After about 2 hours of digging you both start to cover the hole with your ponchos and branches. You throw both bags in the hole and get in. While in there you pull out two MREs and two bottles of water and start to cook both meals. Jackson looks at you and asks, do you think this storm is going to be bad? I hope not, I don't want the horses getting spooked and giving us away, you reply.
After your MRE is done cooking, you grab it and start eating when Jackson asks you if you are still thinking about the ambushed camp? Yeah, it's almost impossible not to. It just doesn't seem right, you reply. You can take the first watch, that way you don't get as disrupted sleep. Jackson looks at you and says, alright, enjoy your 2 hour nap. Before doing so you get out of the position. Jackson asks, where are you going? I have to pee you reply. You walk deeper into the wood line so as not to be seen and not to walk into anyone else's position. From here you can see Blaze.
