Amy fumed as she led the girl over to the group of elementary school aged kids, her life was hard enough without some random person highlighting everything that made her look like a little kid. Of course as she arrived at her destination she found herself once again comparing herself to the kids there. And of course there was nothing for her to latch onto to separate them; same height, same clothes, no make up, and not even a training bra.
She doubted without her badge anyone would be able to guess she wasn't a charge. Especially since pretty much everyone on shift was new today except Ted. At least Ted reminded her of the one good thing. The app definitely worked which meant she could easily fix herself.
Amy left the girl to make friends and turned to head back to the counter and make those changes but was stopped by her brother, Jack. Apparently the mean kid Ryan was picking on him again. Sighing Amy went over to talk to Ryan.
Ted watched amused as Amy navigated the small group of elementary schoolers to confront Ryan. The boy was slightly shorter than her, but seemed less intimidated than he normally was when employees scolded him. Though considering she looked more like Jack's twin sister than anything else tvat wasn't surprising. That gave him a hilarious idea though. He looked at the phone and loaded a new sentence.
*Amy was as tall as her brother Jack*
**Amy was as tall as her brother Tommy**
Ted looked up eagerly to see the reduced Amy who now had to look up to meet Ryan's gaze. She was still trying to look authoritative, but considering she was now wearing bright pink overalls and light up sneakers it was hard to expect the boy to take her seriously.
Amy was grimacing internally, Ryan never listened to her but asking someone else to chastise him would only make her look less capable. So she continued to put on her best stern voice and continued, "And if you don't stop being a little brat...you'll be thitting out on all of todayth activitieth."
Ted snickered as Amy's new lisp cut away any authority her voice still carried. But he'd gone far enough. He knew all about being stuck in a body that didn't match your identity. He should probably turn her back now. The sound of the door opening distracted him and he saw that the big rush of drop offs was starting. He set down Amy's phone and got ready to start signing kids in.
