Scott tucked his head down as items splattered and scattered around him. A genie lamp opened and sputtered out gas that just missed him by a hair, and potions spilled across the floor, their colorful concoctions only barely avoiding giving him a dousing. A magicians hat fluttered down towards his head but a small gust of wind from a strangely small bag pulled it in instead of the young man.
He glanced around, wiping sweat off his brow. "Jeez. That could have been bad."
Had he been looking upwards, he'd have seen the large, life sized mirror teetering in his direction. Without another moment, it came crashing down upon him, seemingly engulfing him in one quick motion. In an instant, he was transported into a void. The light that may have shown from the mirror was snuffed out, its portal shattered across the magic shop floor, a mess for someone else to clean up.
Below him, he could see a dozen lights of varying colors. Small specks getting larger and larger, approaching him.
Or, rather, he was falling towards them.
The mirror was a portal to the void between dimensions, and Scott, oh poor Scott, had found himself being attracted to one of the many others. But which one?
