"Oh, but maybe you have more options? I'm not that familiar with "animal attribute suits" myself, since we haven't had a wearer while I've been here" Priya mutters, almost as an afterthought.
"Options?" You prod. It's The Conductor who answers you, surprisingly.
"Animal attribute suits endow the wearer with a varied range of abilities. While some merely allow the wearer to utilize the senses or abilities of animals, others permit shape-shifting in order to utilize the form of various animals," The Conductor stated, not even turning its metallic head around to look at you. If it even saw with the sensors that passed for eyes. Maybe they were just there for decorative purposes.
"So...you're saying I might be able to just see in the dark like a cat, or I might be able to...turn into a cat?" you ponder aloud.
"That's the theory, anyway," Priya grins at you. "It's up to you to figure out what your powers are. So use that animal instinct!"
At that moment, the overhead lights dim slightly and a red flashing indicator goes off on one of the electrical devices in The Conductor's corner.
"We have a request for Illucy and Powerhouse from the Able County Heroes Association," The Conductor announces, and you can't help but raise your brows as Lucian curses a blue streak.
"Well, I guess we'll have to have the welcome party tomorrow," Priya pouts as she hurriedly stuffs some things in a cabinet. "Oh, when you figure out your powers, don't forget to think about your hero name, you'll need it!' Priya calls back as she hurriedly removes her shirt and Powerhouse runs out the door.
"Remember, Ru-ru, the Superhero Club is our little secret!" Illucy gives you a smirk, then floats off behind Powerhouse with a messenger back stuffed full of muscled figurines that look almost like G.I. Joe action figures.
"Wait...! Uh..." you stare, dumbfounded, as you are left with only The Conductor, who seems entirely absorbed in sorting out information and passing it on to Powerhouse and Illucy. Reluctant to disturb something important, you stand there quietly for a bit, but then, realizing the time, start to put back on the rest of your clothes. Over the freaky suit. Which somehow seems to hide itself under your clothes just enough that no one would know you even had it on. Creepy.
Fully dressed, you see The Conductor is still not paying you any attention, so you awkwardly sneak out the door you entered from. Finally out in the school courtyard, you lean against the wall and heave a sigh. Being in a new school was bad enough, but now you are part of a weird club that turned you into some sort of furry freak for four years. And you can't tell anyone. Not that you would want to. Somehow you pictured being a superhero as more glamorous than this. Pulling yourself together, you leave the school.
