With so much indecision, you opt to go back into town a grab a map, that way you can see which route is actually faster. You don’t want to run into this situation again, you you make it a point to remember to stop at shops in every town you visit. Just before you fog through the gate, you manage to notice a guy that fits the description of the informant pretty well. You didn’t know why he would be heading into town now of all times, but you weren’t going to let this opportunity pass, so you tail him. Using your training as a thief, you remain out of sight and undercover with just enough distance for you to determine where he was going. You eavesdrop on a conversation he’s having with someone you don’t recognize.
“Is everything set?”
“Yeah, the fetch quest is done. Hopefully the kid gets strong enough with all the challenges in between the cities. I know you trained them, but how well did you train them?”
“They’ll be fine. All my students are. If they can’t sense danger from a mile away, they wouldn’t have passed the beginner’s training.”
“Is that right? I guess I can be confident then.”
“You weren’t tailed were you?”
