Marcia was never one to run away from a confrontation. Well run away entirely. Using used her telepathic powers to continue tracking the banshee, it was quite clear the thing was expecting that as it was currently back with her bag.
Not great but not unworkable. After all she'd snuck up on it before. As long as she played her cards right the bag would be hers again before the thing even knew she was back.
After slipping out of the guest room, Marcia moved silently back through the halls. Soon finding herself once again facing the banshees rear, she saw the creature seemed to be examining the bag. Its' spectral fingers were passing through the sides of the bag resulting in a faint glow.
No doubt it was just drawn to the magical energies inside which was of little concern to Marcia. Nothing inside would be easily turned against her by any creature let alone a deranged spirit. After all no paranormal hunter would leave a magical bag without safeguards.
Focusing her telekinetic touch into a slight nudge sent a lamp crashing from a table down the hall to the floor. The banshee instantly rushed shrieking in that direction. Marcia was all the way up to her bag by the time it realized the deception.
Quickly picking up the bag as the banshee rushed back, Marcia pulled open the top and confidently pulled out the bound tomb inside. Except a moment after flipping it open she realized with horror instead of an enchanted grimior it was a Pre Calculus textbook. As the banshee's hand reached out to grab her, Marcia's clothes glew and began shrinking to fit.
With only a moment before the creature had her fully in it's grasp again could she get away?
