She wasn't entirely sold on the idea, given she loved Rick as a boyfriend and not as her mother. At the same time though...it could be interesting for him to live that way for just a little bit. Unknown to her, though, her subconscious already believing Rick - or rather Rachel - to have always been her mother also played a part in the decision.
With a small sigh, she agreed. "Alright, mom. Just for a little while. A few days at most."
Rachel beamed with joy. "Oh thank you! Don't worry - I'll be the best momma you've ever had!"
Emily cringed a little at that awkward comment...though it was remarkably similar to something her old mother would say.
Before she could contemplate on this further, Rachel gave her a small kiss on the head, putting her purse closer around her shoulder. "We'll probably be back by 10, okay? Food's in the fridge if you need it."
It was like Rick wasn't even there anymore. He must've been, but her motherly tone felt so...natural. "O-Okay...Rick." Emily had to consciously choose to call her that rather than 'mom'...weird.
Rachel gave a wide smile as her just as wide behind walked out the door and to the car...
