Faith was curious how far the slider could go in a negative direction, so she slid it, and it kept going, and going, and going. It looked like it would stop at negative one hundred, then negative one thousand, then ten thousand, and it kept going and going. Eventually she did reach the end though, negative 2,147,483,648. Satisfied, she clicked it, and suddenly could not breath. It was like she was suffocating.
She knew she needed a cigarette, and she needed it now, otherwise she would die. She dived for the cigarette pack she had laying on the table in front of her and she found the lighter and lit it. She inhaled the smoke to such a degree; she was afraid she was going to light up another one right then and there. She went to take the cigarette out of her mouth, but once again, she felt she could not breath without the cigarette in her mouth. She placed it back there and tried to discover what went wrong.
She had gone in the opposite direction, to make sure that she would not need to smoke, but now she did, and it would kill her not to it seemed. She kept the cigarette in her mouth and tried to move the slider back, but it seemed stuck at the moment. She backed out of the page and saw that there was an error message. The message on the app said that she had made a mistake that needed to be looked into by the admin and she would have to be locked out of changes till that was fixed.
By now, the cigarette she was smoking was nearly spent, and remembering how bad it felt not to be smoking, she took one out of her pack and lit one up while she still had the previous cigarette in her mouth. She looked in her pack, only fourteen cigarettes left, she was going to need to go out and buy some new cigarettes soon. Which led to another issue, how would she be able to do that without suffocating.
That was not her only problem though, while smoking both cigarettes, Faith had discovered that it felt even better than when she was smoking one. At first, she was surprised by this, but after thinking about it, it made since, she needed to smoke, so more smoke would be better for her. She wondered how far this could go and imagined herself as one of those carnival freakshow people who had 20 or 30 cigarettes in her mouth. She shook her head and realized that would not be good.
She looked down at her phone, with the error message still there and wondered what she was going to do now.
