A tap on Kiiri's shoulder now caused the goblin bartender to turn, her greenish cheeks paling as she gazed up at the newest patron of the bar. "Uh oh."
Merlin narrowed his eyes, raising an eyebrow as he studied the goblin. "Kiiri," he said sternly. "Care to explain yourself?"
"Was talking bout big wizard man," Kiiri stated, feigning innocence. "Only goblins."
Merlin tilted his head, gesturing towards the newly transformed Ann and Jackie. "They goblins," Kiiri said. "Always goblins."
"Mmmhmmm," Merlin stated, slowly beindng down he took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm sure you've already deduced who those two are and who they are connected too."
"No," Kiiiri said in shock, once more feigning ignorance. "Kiiri not know who they are. They goblins. Always goblins."
"Kiiiri," Merlin groaned. "Do I really have to explain who they are?" Kiiiri said nothing, shifting nervously under the ancient wizards gaze. Transforming these two was beginning to seem like a bad idea.
"Okay," Merlin sighed. "Ann is the aunt of not only a powerful wizard but of a Catalyst as well."
"A Catalyst," Kiiri asked, tilting her head in confusion. "What Catalyst?" Merlin frowned, beginning to grow tired of these games. "Kiiri."
Kiiri sighed, somewhat defeated as her shoulders slumped. "Sorry," she said. "Go on."
"You know what a Catalyst is," he said. "And you know that the current one will lead to a more powerful one in the future. How long before this current Catalyst realizes her aunt has been transformed into a goblin?"
"Not notice" Kiiri argued. "Quantum shifter make always goblin."
"I think you underestimate them Kiiri," Merlin stated. "Humans can be quite surprising. It will only be a matter of time before Katie notices her aunt is missing and as for Jackie, the connection she has to her best friend Gloria is quite strong. Do you really wish for Gloria to come barging into town with her demon hunter boyfriend and the damphir Duke?"
Kiiri winced, after hearing what Gloria, Katie, and her friends had done to a timeline conquering titan and the vampires, she had no desire to get on their bad side.
"And that's not even including the future Catalyst," Merlin continued. "A Catalyst who has chosen to transform those on a technological basis. I'm sure the future owner of Spells R Us would send him back, considering those two have a future daughter that is connected to her. Considering that Catalyst is being trained to fight by the most ruthless kitsune in history, I dare not think what he would do."
Kiiri shuffled nervously, biting her bottom lip as she watched Ann and Jackie. "So what do?"
"Let them have their fun," Merlin stated. "Afterwards they need to return to human form. I'm sure you don't need a negative review, or any problems from the more aggressive members of the wizarding community."
"Ugh fine," Kiiri grumbled. "Make human later."
Merlin smiled, patting Kiiri on the shoulder as he turned to depart. "If your looking for magical clout I can assist you," he said. "There are others I'm sure would be much better options for goblinization. I would suggest avoiding them though. I'd even be willing to offer lessons for free if interested."
Kiiri nodded, watching as the ancient wizard vanished, leaving the goblin with much to ponder.
