Jack, a employee of the toy manufacture “Kids First”, is feeling really tired, the 40-year-old man, has already worked for 10 hours straight and just wants to go home, but he had still a job to finish. The man's job for the day was to finish off a big order of action figures to be sent of early the next morning, luckily he only had ten figures to go, then he'd be free to leave, or so he thought.
Jack finally packs the last of the figures and puts it onto the cart, “finally,” he mutters, he gets up from his seat and stretches, letting out a groan as his back pops, “man, I am so looking forward to my bed,” he adds, bending down and reaching for his backpack.
Just as Jack has flung his bag over his shoulder, the door to his workplace opens and his colleague enters, “Jack,” he says, “thank god you are still here.”
Jack mentally groans, 'please... not him,' he thinks to himself, the colleague who has just entered his space is none other than Ricardo.
Ricardo has the habit of taking advantage of Jack's kind heart, whenever he has something “more important” to attend to instead of doing his work.
“I know what you are after,” Jack says, before Rick is able to “explain”, “you want ME to finish your work, so that YOU can “enjoy” yourself with some girl you met in your lunch break.”
Rick's eyes widen in surprise, “um... how'd you know,” he asks, dumbly.
Jack rolls his eyes, “oh please,” he says, “THAT is the ONLY reason you talk with me.”
Rick acts shocked and puts on a hurtful expression, “th-that is not true,” he says.
“You are a bad liar,” Jack says, “I am tired of you taking advantage of me. You never pay me back, you owe me a ton after almost asking me daily for help.”
Even though Jack is fuming inwardly and would just love to “bitch slap” Rick, he manages to stay calm. Rick shuffles his feet, “I... I am sorry,” he mumbles, “I... I promise, if you'll do this for me, I won't ask you for... let's say... two years for any “favor”?”
Jack thinks about it for a while, he then lets out a sigh and sets his backpack down, “fine... deal,” he says, “what do I have to do this time?”
Rick beams, “thanks Jack,” he says, “I really mean it... thanks... .”
Jack rolls his eyes, the man is so exhausted, “just f-ing tell me what I have to do,” he repeats.
“Nothing big,” Rick says, “just stick labels on two different sets of Lab kits and pack them for tomorrow's shipping.”
“Fine,” Jack says, “get the stuff,” Rick nods and hurries away to get the kits and everything Jack would need. Jack watches after Rick, shaking his head, “that man,” he mumbles, “if he would not play on his phone all day, he would actually get his job done.”
After a hour of waiting, Rick arrives with two carts full of unlabeled Lab Kits, he sets the carts next to each other and walks over to Jack. “Okay, listen,” he says as he puts to piles of labels, which look different from one a other, “the right cart has Kits for grown ups, the left is the cart with Kits for children.”
Jack nods, “okay, is there anything I have to look out for,” he asks. As he waits for Rick's reply, Jack is looking at the labels, 'weird, the label for the “grown up” Kits has a strange title: “transforming Lab Kit”. What the hell did the boss come up with this time,' he thinks to himself.
“Um... boss kinda said something about not to mix up the labels or stick the wrong label onto the wrong Kit,” Rick says, “to be honest, I have not payed a close attention... I... um... was kinda busy.”
Jack rolls his eyes, “yeah... busy with your freaking phone,” he mumbles, he then looks at the carts, “so there are thirty Kits each... I should manage both carts in... two hours at least.”
Rick beams, “thanks again, Jack,” he says.
Jack scowls at Rick, “just don't forget out deal,” he says sternly.
Rick shakes his head, “I... I won't...,” he says.
“Okay... now get out,” Jack says, with a nod Rick hurries off, Jack shakes his head in disbelief as he watches him leave. After Rick has disappeared, Jack heads over to the door and closes it, he then returns to his seat and stares at the carts. “Guess I'll start with the grown up Kits,” he says, so he grabs the first Kit from the right cart and grabs a label, he applies some strong glue and sticksc the label onto the cardboard box. Jack sets the labeled Kit onto a free cart and grabs a Kit from the left cart, which is the Kit for children, and attaches the correct label.
After almost a hour and a half, Jack is halfway through the Kits, the man grows more and more tired with every second. His concentration also starts to fade as his mind drifts of to thinking about his comfy bed, which is waiting for him back at his house. He continues to switch back and forth between the Kits, attaching the labels. Finally he only has two Kits of each Cart left, one grown up Kit and one children's Kit. Jack is by now so exhausted that he unknowingly makes a huge mistake: he grabs the last of the grown up Kits labels and without realizing it, grabs a Kit from the left cart and attaches the label to it, then sets it on the cart with the rest of the finished Kits for grown ups. Jack lets out a yawn, “just one... more Kit to go,” he says, “then I can finally head home,” without wasting anymore time, Jack attaches the last of the labels for the children's Kit to the last Kit which is meant for grown ups.
With the last Kit finished and set on the shipping cart, Jack stands up and grabs his back pack, he then attaches labels which read, “ready for shipping”, the carts with the Kits and his own with the figures. As he turns of the lights to his work place and heads down the hallway, he takes out his phone and sends a message to the shipping department, letting them know, that they can send someone to pick up the carts, with that Jack makes his way home, unaware of what he had done.
Early the next morning, before Jack's shift, four employees of the shipping department walks into his workplace and push the carts with the toys out and into the elevator. The carts are then pushed onto two separate trucks, one truck has the action figures and the other has the Kits, soon the trucks drive off to deliver the new toys to the store.
At the store, the Kits are put on display, the “error Kit” is put with the other children's Kits, when the shop opens for the day a huge crowd enters. It is the weekend, so a lot of young children, preteens a teenagers are among the grown ups, hoping to get their hands on some of the brand new released toys. It does not take long for the Kits to become less and less, until only the “error Kit” is laying in the shelve, waiting patiently to be grabbed by some one.
