They spotted the wizard apparently sitting down to a coffee with the other actors. Even though he wasn’t in costume he still looked like a wizard with his unruly hair and impossibly large eyes. A look of annoyance initially passed over the wizards face as Mr Martin spoke to him, but then his expression changed to an evil looking smile when he observed the two girls near the door.
Mr Martin bought the man across before but departed back towards his office without saying anything.
‘Hello ladies, I am Zanden, I believe you are fans? Can’t say I have too many. How can I help you?’
Michael was polite and deferential as she spoke to the man. ‘Sir, I'm Michelle and this is Karissa. It’s about your performance last night. I am so sorry it was interrupted’
‘Don’t remind me. Acting is hard enough at the best of times. You don’t need your performance interrupted by idiots. That young man needs a lesson on how to behave’
‘I’m sure he is having one. Don’t you agree Michelle?’ Karissa added.
Michael felt compelled to deferentially agree ‘He is very sorry sir’
‘Do you know the young man in question?’
‘You could say that sir’
'Some young people nowadays have no manners, but you girls seem polite. What can I do for you? Would you like an autograph?’
‘That would be wonderful sir’ Michael replied
‘Do you have a pen? Paper?’
‘No Sir. I’ll find something’ Michael raced off back to the reception area hoping to find something that could be signed.
A puzzled Karissa looked after him/her.
‘So you saw the show last night? What did you think of it’ Zanden asked Karissa.
‘It was wonderful. I was so enthralled with the story. It made me forget about all my turmoils’
‘Turmoils?’
‘Yes. I realise now that I have lying to myself and the world, hiding who I really am but something strange happened last night and in a way it was liberating’
‘So things are looking up?’
‘Yes they are’
‘Well I’m pleased. You should not hide who you are. Be truthful to yourself and your life. Ah! Here comes your sister’
Michael returned with a copy of the show’s program. The young girl presented the program and a pen to the Wizard. Zanden feeling much better about life himself took the program across to his fellow cast members and got all of them to sign it for ‘Michelle’
10 minutes later the two twins left the theatre. Only then did Michael realise he had not confronted the wizard about what had happened to him. ‘Oh I forgot to ask about why I changed’
