Jake felt a tapping on her shoulder.
Her danger sense hadn't gone off at all, which was a good sign. It meant that the person behind her was probably safe. She swiveled around in her chair and faced a short, pretty Indian woman who worked in the office named Alice Prasher.
"Um, Jake, was it?" Alice asked politely.
"Oh, hey Alice" Jake said, also politely. She found herself smiling instinctively, which she had never really done as a man. "What's up?"
Jake and Alice hadn't said two words to one another since Jake had started here, not even when Jake solicited for help on how to walk in heels. What did she even want?
"I was just wondering if you wanted to go out after work later tonight and have a drink with me and some of the other women. We like to go and have a girl's night out sometimes, and now that you're one of us, I just thought you'd like to come."
"Um...sure! Why not?" Jake said, unsure but being diplomatic.
"Great!" Alice smiled back. "Is The Shamrock OK? The one down on 5th?"
"Uh... yeah. That's fine."
"Great! See you then!"
Alice flounced off towards the other side of the room, her hips shimmying and bubble butt bouncing.
Jake returned to her work, curious about the events of the afternoon.
**
About forty five minutes after work ended, Jake found herself driving to The Shamrock. After having changed into some casual clothes that she left in her trunk and finding a suitable parking space, she walked inside the bar.
As promised, Alice and a handful of other women from the office were there.
"Oh my God, look who showed up!" Alice yelled, clapping her hands, already a little tipsy.
"Hey!" Jake said to everyone, pulling up a chair from another table.
She wasn't really used to large gatherings like this. Rahim was pretty much her only close friend outside of her family, so she felt more than a little bit awkward and the odd woman out.
Thankfully, the women all made Jake feel welcomed.
They gossiped and joked and laughed a lot, trading war stories. A few of them danced with some guys after they had gotten sufficiently drunk. All of them asked Jake about her life both before and after transforming, and what the two "goddesses" were really like in person.
"They're amazing" Jake said. "Their mom makes terrific banana bread."

After a few hours and the evening fell into true night, the truth finally came out.
"OK, there was an ulterior motive for why we invited you here, Jake" Alice said, barely keeping her words strung together.
"I thought so" Jake said. "That's why I've barely touched my Irish Car Bomb."
"I...we" Alice said, pointing her fingers at the other women, "Obviously, we've all had negative experiences with guys in the past. These new powers you have? They'd be suuuper useful if we could have something like that too. And, you know, staying forever young."
"Oh. Wow. I..."
A drunken Alice leaned in to kiss Jake on the lips.
She instantly felt an electric shock course through her body and the Indian woman jumped back to her seat, yelping femininely.
"I'm sorry!" Jake yelled, raising her hands in fear. "I can't help it. It just turns on whenever someone gets too close and I feel uncomfortable!"
"Could you at least spit into my beer?" Alice asked, somewhat demandingly. "I heard that it's all about exchanging saliva."
"Well, actually kind of fluid will do, but OK" Jake said, spitting into Alice's glass.
Alice raised her glass to the other ladies.
"Here's to never growing old" she said and drank up.
