The Meat Market goes under a transformation each Halloween for an adults-only party. The Slaughterhouse usually didn't have much more a specific Halloween theme, but this year they were doing a little something called 'The House of Asmodeus'. That wasn't to say that the Slaughterhouse had become a depraved carnal place of unholy sacrilege, well, at least not more than usual. The Slaughterhouse was lit up with more technicolor lights this year, including a projection of multicolored flames on the wall. This certainly gave the nightclub a more psychedelic atmosphere.
The performers tonight did their own takes on the Halloween themes. Currently, the two that were on stage were women who doing their own versions of the classic goat-like demon. One had become a Jacob Sheep with its four distinctive horns and the other was a mountain goat. Their skimpy outfits included fake bat wings and cordlike tails.
Though there were two patrons at the Slaughterhouse who weren’t as impressed with the dancers’ display. It wasn’t that they didn’t have anything against the establishment or stagecraft. In fact, they would be big hypocrites if they did. But Miss Fabina and Gloria didn’t care much for these new dancers.
“I would admire their creativity if they actually thought of anything,” said Gloria, “They were completely reliant on others to even think up their routine.”
“They couldn’t even think of what kind of Animalian they wanted to be,” said Miss Fabina, “I don’t think they even really know what they are. They both think they’re goats.”
“Wait, the mountain goat isn’t a goat?” asked Gloria.
“Actually, it’s a very specialized species of antelope,” said Miss Fabina.
“Huh, I never would have guessed,” said Gloria.
“And she definitely wouldn’t have,” said Miss Fabina, “I’m not against the admiration of physical beauty, but these women think they can just coast through life on sex appeal alone without having to learn a thing.”
“I’m sure they got the idea from their parents,” said Gloria sourly.
Miss Fabina sighed and said, “Perhaps, we really shouldn’t blame them. But it may take some work to get them to really thinking beyond their appearances.”
“Well, there have been worse cases before,” said Gloria, “At least my old classmates are putting more thought into what they’re becoming.”
“And the theatre will be opening before long,” said Miss Fabina, “Have you thought about what play you’ll be putting on?”
‘We’re still hashing it out,” said Gloria, “We’ll have a more solid idea after everyone’s converted.”
