An enchanted music box was hidden in Beth's room after the first week, which was set to play a short while after she fell asleep,
slowly imprinting the words into her mind every night.
The nobles got a bit bolder after the first month, switching out Beth's mirrors with ones that flashed certain images when she was not directly looking at them.
A week later, they started discussing certain topics whenever she was around.
It had been about half a year since they had begun their plan, when they decided to move to the next stage.
One of the nobles had requested a private audience with queen Beth, and breached the subject of her marriage.
Beth didn't know why, but she became strangely hesitant when the topic came up, but she still asked for a list of candidates after a pause.
The noble grinned internally, but put on a regretful face.
"I am sorry your majesty, but half-elves are ostracized in our kingdom, so finding a marriage partner within it may prove difficult."
Beth's brows furrowed as she looked at the noble. "What do you mean by 'half-elf' i am-" She stopped herself.
And the noble could almost no longer conceal the malicious smile on his face.
She had recognized that she wasn't an elf anymore, so all he had to do now was to lead her into the direction he wanted.
"But your majesty, a marriage may not be necessary." She gave him a look that told him to continue.
"After all, your majesty only needs a child, not a husband." "And what about the... other issue?"
The queen stared at him intimidatingly, but he continued in a confident tone. "Then the other party simply need not be an elf, your majesty."
Queen Beth considered his words for a while, before eventually agreeing.
An anonymous tryst was set up shortly after.
Beth lay on a bed, wearing only a blindfold, while her partner would do the same, to maintain the anonymity of both sides.
The future sire of Beth's children was brought to the room only a few minutes later.
