Amara and Spark had gone to their local mall to try and get a little air, they thought they also might find Sylvia and Tanya there. Amara couldn't help but feel awkward around just Spark at the moment, she didn't mind it when they were together with the others, but they hadn't quite been alone together for real since Spark had threatened her.
"So...do you think we'll find someone....unique here?" Amara asked trying to come up with a good question to break the silence.
"I mean we'd have to look quite carefully but I'm sure we can find someone whose....not normal around here." Spark said as they looked around in a clothing department store.
"I'm...I'm sorry." Amara finally said after a long sigh.
"Like I said we'll find someone here, don't..." Spark started to say.
"No, I mean....I'm sorry for all of before. I didn't know you, I didn't know what your life had been like. My species, we usually just look out for ourselves, I never thought about you or how your friends would feel about having nightmares. But with what I've seen with you and Connor, it's making me think if Miranda and I can even last." Amara said and apologized.
"It's...it's okay. You didn't know us before and I've got to say, you're really helping Miranda bring her out of her comfort zone. I don't think I've seen her be more protective than before you came. You have your own knight in shining armor now, or sparkling skirt." Spark chuckled.
"Yeah, is that how you feel about Connor?" Amara asked.
"I've actually been with his family for years. I'd seen Connor grow up and never thought differently about him. But then one day, one of his older brother's girlfriends took us out for a day of fun and made me human for the first time. I just thought I'd have some fun with him, and we did. But then afterwards, I was told he was crushing on me, I thought it sweet. Then he....asked me out to a dance, where we danced and......our dance meant....we were bonded heart and soul." Spark said touching her heart.
"Bonded? Wait, so are you two....engaged or something?" Amara asked raising her eyebrow with a smirk and Spark's face blushed tomato red.
"We're just dating at the moment, but yeah. My parents explained to me that we danced my people's dance together and found a soul mate." Spark said taking a loving sigh.
"That's...really sweet. Oh, hey wait, I see them, they're talking with a couple of women over by some changing rooms." Amara pointed out.
Spark and Amara made their way over carefully to where the changing rooms were at and listened closely to them speak.
"....so it's at the utmost urgency that you leave before he finds you here." Sylvia finished saying.
"We want to, but can you really give us a flight out? We were hoping to be reunited with our people, there is talks that our new lord has done wonders across the ocean for us." A brunette woman said.
"Yes, we can make some arrangements, but remember you must not let him know by any circumstance what you are." Tanya stated.
"We understand, so how soon can we leave? We very would like to be under the watch of Lord Wyatt." A red-haired woman said.
"Lord Wyatt?!" Spark exclaimed coming from behind some clothes rack.
"Oh no, have we been exposed? Please don't reveal us to him." The brunette woman begged.
"No, no. Ladies, there's a slight misunderstanding here. We're acquainted with these two young ladies, we'll talk with them." Tanya said as she turned to look at Spark and Amara.
"Listen...uh, I don't believe we ever got your names before." Tanya said.
"She's Amara, and I'm Spark and you're about to let a couple of.....night prowlers leave the country scot free." Spark said obviously upset.
"These women remained behind after....the vampire battle some time ago. But they just stayed hidden, now they want safe passage to their leader." Sylvia explained.
"Yes, our....lord....has been welcoming in those who were left behind and we intend to proudly serve him. We don't dare disobey him or his lady, especially not after she had his heirs." The red-haired woman said.
"Heirs?" Spark questioned.
"Yes, the Lady Kyra, she is the first ahem 'queen' in centuries to give birth to five children of their new family line and many are calling what happened a miracle as they are both human and...not human." The brunette woman explained with a wink.
"Wait, family, that's it. Sylvia, Tanya, does....he who we won't name have any living relatives?" Amara asked.
Sylvia, Tanya, and the other women look at Spark and Amara confusingly.
"What?" Amara asked.
"There are no more of his bloodline, because....he killed his family. The rest of the Kanes are dead." Sylvia revealed to Amara and Spark.
