Kyle broached the silence with an ill-timed quip. "Well, that could have gone better."
"No shit, Sherlock!" exclaimed the hypnotist. He shook Ally by her shoulders, but it had no effect. "We have to cancel this right away." He desperately tried to snap her out of the trance she had fallen into, but nothing was working. Even using the Barbie Doll trigger had no effect.
"Wait a second. What if we did put her on stage?" Kyle was beginning to come up with an idea.
"Are you crazy? There's no way I'm doing that. Everyone would notice there's something wrong with her, not to mention it's unethical in her current state."
He gestured towards Ally. She was clearly still in la-la land, happily panting away, not paying attention to the conversation at all. She had even shifted to a more comfortable position on all fours.
"Just hear me out for a second. That video is a problem. If anyone even reminds her about it, well, you can see what happens." Ally's ears had already migrated to the top of her head, and her tongue was now freakishly large. "We need to do some damage control."
"Okay... having her on stage wouldn't help. It would only make the problem worse." Mr. Dormitabis desperately wanted a drink already, but he had a feeling his prayers would go unanswered.
"Well, yes, but that's my idea. We can blame your show for Ally's transformations." Kyle was getting excited now.
"What?" Alfred was lost.
"Think about it. What if we claimed Ally has been hypnotized to be a were-dog? We could say that her weird behavior is just your hypnotic commands. More importantly, we could say any physical transformations are just her putting on a costume."
"A costume. Really?" Alfred couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"How else are we going to explain a girl with a dog tail?" Indeed, Ally had grown a large fur-coated tail, which was happily wagging behind her.
"Well... uh..." The hypnotist didn't want to admit it, but he was having trouble coming up with any alternatives. "To even attempt your scheme, we'd need Ally to be fully human to start." Ally's physical changes had apparently come to stop, as she now mirrored the dog-girl she had become in Talforious's dimension. "It would ruin the illusion if she was already transformed. Plus, I'm not agreeing to this unless she agrees to it while in her right mind. I don't hypnotize people who don't volunteer, and I'm not about to start now."
Kyle knew that was fair. His plan was shaky at best, and if Ally couldn't commit to the bit, it was never going to get off the ground. He was tempted to just call it off, but part of him really wanted to go through with this. After all, when else was he going to see his idol use hypnosis on his bitchy sister? He turned to face his dog-ified sibling.
"Ally, now would be a really good time to wake up." He shook her shoulders. "Come on. Barbie Doll!"
