Jess thought it over for a minute. "Yeah, I guess I'm getting a little hungry too."
The pair of mismatched animals walked and flew the very long distance between Mary's room and the kitchen. Jess carried two of the vials in her arms. Once they arrived, Mary flew Jess up to the counter, then went to scour for the cheese. "I think it's in a pretty easy to reach place," she said.
While Mary searched, Jess found a cracker box. After knocking it over, she was able to get at the lid and open it. She clawed her way through the plastic wrapping and pulled out a few crackers. They were almost half her own size, but didn't weigh as much as she thought they would. "Must be my ant strength," she said. She laid a few out on the counter and carefully dabbed a bit of one vial on two of them, and used the other vial on another two.
Mary finally returned, a large chunk of cheese hanging from her talons. "Flying is amazing!" she said. "The rush of air, diving from heights...I'm having the most fun of my life!"
"Well, prepare for even more," Jess said as she gestured to the crackers. "I decided to spice up our meal."
"You're not going to tell me which one is which, are you?" Mary guessed.
"What's the fun in that?" the squirrel-ant shrugged.
Mary sighed, breaking the cheese into smaller, eatable pieces. They distributed the cheese out over the crackers and munched away.
