"The only redemption you may find is through God's mercy in the hereafter!" the knight rebuked. "Prepare yourself for His judgement!"
Kyle closed his eyes, waiting for the embrace of the old man's flame, but instead all he heard was a demonic snarl followed by the sounds of a struggle. He opened his eyes to find his sister, charred but alive, grappling with the old man, whom she'd pinned beneath her. The knight was putting up an impressive struggle despite his age, holding her wrists and clothes at bey with his arms.
The knight's sword lay on the ground a few feet from the car.
"Let's get out of here," Marisa suggested.
"Wait," Kyle ordered and opened the car door.
Kim lowered her groin towards the knight's torso. A moment later there came a fleshy, tearing sound as the old man screamed in pain, but did not give up his struggle.
Kyle snatched up the sword. Instantly, he felt the weapon connect with his will, waiting to respond to his command. Following the knight's example, he made it burst into flames, knowing he could project a deadly fireball at a target of his choosing.
Both Kim and the knight stopped mid-struggle and looked at Kyle, fear in their eyes.
