Nick ran up the stairs. It seemed that everyone was mostly partying outside and on the lower floors, leaving the upper floors of the frat house with less people to spot him. Another good thing was that the costume was taking a while to fully change him back into a haunted suit of armor, meaning his running came off as someone going up the now stone steps than the rattling of heavy plate armor.
The stone steps did slow his running as he recalled it was wood before.
'At the rate things are changing, it might turn into a fancy castle or something.' he thought as he reached the third floor.
He then stopped and looked at the hallways on his left and right, noticing suits of armor decorating the halls on their pedestals with their gauntlets on their resting swords and shields. All identical though in much better state compared to him, to his costume. Since there's no one on the hallways, Nick saw glowing eyes in the shadows of suits of armor's helmets, some turning their helmets to face him.
A strange sense of camaraderie, of belonging, filled Nick but he resisted the urge to join them.
"At ease..." he said in a deep echoing voice, hoping that it'll convince the new additions to the frat house to leaving him alone. It did seem to convince some to turn their helmets back facing ahead.
Nick looked back at the stone steps up, perhaps the roof was indeed a safer bet.
