Ty woke to the feeling of movement. He was sitting on an uncomfortable wooden bench with many people of all ages on the benches beside and in-front of him. Surrounding the cart they were sitting on was a metal cage. The cart was being pulled by two spiders the size of horses, and the cart driver was a small, green humanoid.
The people around him were scared, and there was no light of hope in their eyes. Several of them stank with the stench of several days being unwashed. Their clothing was typical peasant garb. Ty considered his options. He knew nearly instinctively that the body he had been placed into was a paladin, and he knew how to access his abilities. However, every paladin he’d played before required either a weapon or a holy symbol to use their abilities, and a quick search of his body found neither. And his hands were chained to the floor of the cart, so he couldn’t use them even if he had them.
He looked to the cart driver, seeing that he had a wicked looking curved dagger on the back of his belt. If he could get to the front of the cart, perhaps he could reach the dagger. Would his chains prevent him from reaching that far? Maybe it was worth trying.
