"Cecil, watch out!" Adam yelled the moment he saw an oversized green hand reach out from the glowing hole and grab Cecil's leg.
"Ahhhh!" Cecil screamed. The hand was desperately grasping at Cecil's leg with surprising strength. "Help!"
Adam ran towards Cecil as fast as he could. His younger brother fell to the floor and the hand dragged his big body effortlessly towards the hole. The whole situation seemed surreal to Adam but he had to act fast. He grabbed his brother's hands and pulled as hard as he could.
"Hey!" A gruff voice called from the other side of the hole. "Yes, keep pulling like that!"
"Oh no, they want to capture me and imprison me on the other side of the hole! Help me, bro!"
"No, that's a misunderstanding! I just want to get out of the hole, too!"
Adam had no idea if the mysterious voice was telling the truth but he kept on pulling Cecil away from the hole and in consequence the other unknown person, still clenching tightly at Cecil's leg, was pulled out from the hole as well.
Adam and Cecil were panting in exhaustion. "Aww, bro, that was scary!"
"As scary as that time a fire dragon got me trapped inside that mine? I very much doubt it!" Said the gruff voice.
It was a very gruff and macho voice to belong to such a short person...
A person with green, leathery skin...
With disproportionately big hands and feet and a giant bald head with pointy ears and a large nose...
Dressed in fantasy-medieval style shining armor...
"Holy shit, a goblin!" Cecil exclaimed with incredulity.
The goblin stared at the younger brother's face. "Holy shit, an obscenely obese human!" He replied in mockery. He then stood up. "Sorry, I have very poor manners... Let me fix your clothes up a bit."
After a dramatical swirl of his hand, Adam and Cecil's clothes were now clean. They both looked down incredulously. All the dirt they got on when they fell to the ground was completely gone.
"Magic?! How come there's a magical goblin here?!" Cecil still couldn't believe it.
"And what's the deal with the hole in the ground?" Adam asked as well.
The goblin then told his story to the brothers. He came from the world of Extensia, a parallel world where magic and all sorts of mythological creatures exist. The goblin, named Jarg, spared no expense when retelling his epic about that time he fought against a bonafide fire dragon all alone and was awarded knighthood. But goblin knighthood, even though he had access to all sorts of busty female goblins lusting for him, was ultimately boring and so he decided to become an explorer which is when he came in contact with that strange hole.
"Sir Jarg... a genuine goblin warrior is here in flesh and bone! Oh, it's a dream come true!" Cecil was marveled by Jarg's story.
Adam, however, was more cautious. He couldn't be sure, but when Jarg first took hold of Cecil's leg it looked to him like the goblin was trying to push Cecil *into* the wormhole, and something about his story seemed a bit too convenient.
"Please, Sir Jarg! Tell me more about Extensia! I want to know everything about it!"
"I could tell you... Or I could *show* it to you!" Jarg with a wink pointed at the still glowing hole on the ground.
"That would be AWESOME!" Cecil yelled with excitement.
"Yep, the wormhole goes both ways. However keep in mind that going through the wormhole may incur certain side effects to your bodies."
"What sort of side effects?" Adam asked.
"Oh, nothing bad. Makes things more convenient, even. The wormhole not only transports you to another world, it also adapts your body to that world. For example, the moment I entered your human world I could understand and talk your language, and if I stay for longer, I'll surely end up transforming into a human being completely so nobody suspects I'm from a foreign world." Sir Jang gladly explained. "So you see, it's all upsides."
"(I'm not sure I trust him just yet...)" Adam thought.
"Oh, also if you want to go to Extensia you should jump in right away, unless you want to risk the wormhole linking to a completely different world over time."
Cecil turned to Adam. "This is a dream come true, right? Shall we explore Extensia right now?"
Adam looked at Cecil's puppy eyes. The older brother had to admit that he was very curious about that magical world too.
