When Carnelian’s back was turned, Rose Quartz hurriedly turned around and ran away. She wouldn’t be some random dragon’s mate! She had to find a way back to her proper form!
“Get back here!” Carnelian shouted. Rose Quartz suddenly remembered she had wings. Carnelian didn’t, as male dragons grew their wings later than females. She flapped her wings and took to the sky. Carnelian shouted helplessly, unable to reach her.
Rose Quartz flew until her new wings got tired. She attempted a graceful landing by a lake, but instead crashed directly into the water. She pulled herself out, spitting mud and fire. Her first day as a female dragon was not going well at all. But at least she successfully escaped from that madman Carnelian. Rose Quartz took a look at her surroundings. The lake she had crashed in was surrounded by a small but lush forest. That forest was enclosed by a ring of cliffs.
This would do for a hiding spot while she tried to regroup and plan. Rose Quartz walked up to one of the cliffs and dug one of her massive claws into the rock. The rock parted like it was clay. Following this method, Rose Quartz was able to dig herself a cave within the cliff to sleep in. By the time she was done, night had fallen and she was exhausted.
Rose Quartz curled up in her new cave and fell asleep quickly.
