Pyrona was impressed by this young dragoness’s ability to resist her, even though it was obvious she would give in soon. This indicated magical talent not normally seen in lesser breeds. But magical talent needed to be nurtured from birth. The only way for this dragoness to have full access to her skills was to start her over and train her from the moment she hatched.
Luckily, Pyrona was skilled in magic herself. She silently cast the regression spell, then breathed it onto the golden dragoness that was still valiantly trying to resist her. Slowly, the girl shrunk, growing younger and younger, until she was in an egg identical to the one she had been protecting. Pyrona smiled. Though she and her mate, Ignis, had many hatchlings together, all of which were fully grown and left now, none had been male. She was finally getting the daughters she wished for.
Pyrona picked up both eggs and took flight, heading for the massive cave system she shared with Ignis. When she arrived, she explained the situation to her startled mate, who was slightly smaller than her with pure white scales. Ignis was as delighted as her to have new hatchlings to tend to.
The eggs were placed in the brooding cave, where Pyrona and Ignis would take turns incubating them. Pyrona took the first watch, curling up around her new daughters. Normally, she would sleep while incubating, but she was too excited! She couldn’t wait for the eggs to hatch!
