Jack stared, incredulous, as the grey sock in his hand began to shrink, right before his eyes.
Within seconds, it was small enough to fit a doll.
"My sock" he exclaimed. "It's tiny!"
-----------------
You see, when he stood too near the fountain and got water trickling into his right boot, it came from the small bowl, which soaked into his sock, and when he took it off, it shrank.
-----------------
He put it on his bare foot, and found it only fit on his big toe.
He glanced at the fountain. 'This is bizzare. surely my new fountain couldn't make clothes shrink.' he mused.
The only way to find out if that was true or not was to try it out.
then Jack would see for himself.
