Bong-cha and her friends had certainly been through the ringer over the last week. From being captured, to freed, to having their safe house blown up, and finally resting here it was beginning to wear the punk band down. Still, the view they now had of this amusement park was something they hadn't seen before.
Gazing out the tinted windows of their apartment, the trio could see animal people go about their daily lives. These anthropomorphic people came in all shapes and sizes, muscular lion men, a short woman who resembled a mouse, even a rather chubby person who looked like a hippo. To the people below, their appearance didn't seem to bother then, they simply went about their business as if everything was normal.
"Morning how we doing?"
Bong-cha and the others turned, watching as the young warlock Jack entered their apartment. After witnessing the brutality of the man, the punk group felt the need to be quite polite with him. "Morning sir," Luca exclaimed, the werewolf nearly saluting much to Bong and Sets embarrassment. "Yeah don't do that," Jack replied. "This isn't the military."
"Um right," Set stated. "So um...where are we?" Jack now approached, gazing down at the amusement park grounds before continuing. "This is Circes Park," he said. "The people down there are called anthros. They're followers of my Aunt Circe, she runs this park along with my mother, Lilith."
"So what does that make you?"
"I guess you could say I'm the COO of this place," he stated. "I run alot of the day to day operations here." The trio nodded, still having quite a few questions, with one question burning in the front of their minds. "So why do you need our help," Bong asked. "Not for nothing, you seem strong enough to wipe these guys out yourself."
"Because my powers can only be used to defend against an attack or recover magical relics," he sighed. "So unless the Normal attack my family or this park I'm forbidden from attacking as the standard bearer of darkness."
"Sounds like a cop out," Bong scoffed. "Also, how is turning a guy into jelly defensive?"
"Well he can't attack anymore can he," Jack smirked. "And it's not my rules, it's a universal thing. The standard bearers of light and darkness are forbidden from interfering in the conflicts of mortals. Thats why Mary and the others have been organizing to takedown the Normal, even if Mary was reckless as hell going about it."
"Where is Mary anyway," Set asked. "And Lilith?"
"With Kellie," Jack replied. "They're trying to salvage what they can from Mary's. They should be back soon but, I need to talk with you three before that." Bong, Set, and Luca now gazed at the young warlock, curious as to what he would say. "Look," he sighed. "Mary might be reckless but I think she maybe on the right track. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Kellie may want to try and limit the casualties but I say we need to bring the fight to them."
"So where does that leave us," Luca asked.
"Good news is the Normal won't be able to attack here," he said. "There's enough magical protection and a small demon army that if they try to hit the park like they hit Mary's they're going to get wiped off the map. Bad news, I'm going to let Mary keep doing what she's doing and it's probably going to involve you three. I just don't want to know the details."
Bong-cha and the others now looked between themselves before looking to Jack. The warlock was giving them a green light to cause as much damage to the Normal as possible. "Oh and you three are welcome to tour the park, just be careful."
"Um why?"
"Because the park is all about transformation," Jack stated. "You could end up taller, shorter, older, younger, even become anthros or swap genders. It's reversible but the first time it happens always freaks someone out. Consider yourselves guests for as long as this goes and if you're interested, we could use a band for live events around the park." The trio simply nodded, gazing out at their fourth home in a little over a week and wondering what else could possibly happen.
