Trident in hand, me and Tony made our way to the outskirts of town where Father Morre informed us of the ghost sightings in the town graveyard. I cast Light onto the trident illuminating the way Tony's feline eyes glowed a soft green in the moon light, capable of seeing well into the darkness. He holds up a hand then points, I see it. A cloaked figure, it turns to face us, from within its cloak a faint grey light glow.
The creature rushes towards us, I raise my trident towards it but the specter only flies through it into me. I feel a boney hand reach toward my soul trying to steal control of Ryker from me but with surge of soul magic I push the ghost back. Flung out of me the specter glares at me visibly damaged half its form burned away by my attack. It sinks into the ground disappearing from my view.
I then hear a gasp and the sound of Tony's scimitar falling to the ground. I turn to look over at Tony, only to see my friend clutching at his head, falling to the ground only to unnaturally rise to his feet. The specter puppets my friend picking up his scimitar he smiles at me his eyes now glowing grey. The specter lunges at me with Tony's body, the tiger's speed and flexibility enables it to get hit in but the heavy armor blocks the blade. Furious at this ghost for hopping into my friend I attempt to banish it. Glowing blue light surrounds me but before I can finish the incantation the specter rushes into an onslaught of attacks. Each attack was sloppy, I could easily push him back, but it would injury Tony which I wanted to avoid. Left with little option I knock the scimitar from Tony's hand then grab him by the scruff of his neck then I recast Possession.
I force my way towards Tony's soul, there I find him in battle against the specter. I feel the soul magic in me start to swell up again. I rush forward to protect Tony's soul engulfing the specter in my own soul and magic. It attempts to escape into Ryker's body, I feel a splitting within myself in that moment. Part of me within Ryker begins the spell work to banish the creature, another part of me in Tony keeps the creature bound in a magic chain as blue light enshrouds us.
I open my eyes after completing the spell the splitting feeling now over I look over at Tony. His getting up from the ground where I dropped him then he suddenly keels over and starts coughing and hacking. Spitting up a grey marble Tony picks it up wiping off a little drool from his mouth, “hey look, we did it one ghost stone, proof of no more ghost” he says extremely wearily.
We head back home, ready to drop off the stone and collect the reward at daybreak. For now, however we are both overdue for a rest and at Tony's suggestion a bath.
