Chronivac Version 4.0

TransDem Labs Witholds!

added A year ago O

AN: I chose Elliot Brigg’s chapter “UPS Delivers!” as the beginning due to the first chapter listed (being based on Reaver’s “Sk8r Dreams” and J.R. Praz’s “Master PC”) revolving around the Maker App and not the Chronivac.

River Thomason was ready for the journey he was about to embark on. He was just out of training and about to head to his first mission.

River was only 20 years old yet he stood tall at a height of 7 feet even and with an impressive physique. He was very muscular and had spent the past few years training nonstop. Preparing for the day he would head into a gate and retrieve a Chronivac from whichever reality it had been sent to. Since it was his first mission in the field, he was tasked to go alone on an easy mission. The higher ups wanted to see if he was ready to embark on bigger missions afterwards. This would just serve as a test.

River had studied intensely in his orientation and classes while also going through a multitude of simulations. He was prepared for any situation he would encounter. Besides his TDS (TransDem Suit) would protect him from being affected by the Chronivac. As long as he kept the whole thing in tact that is.

The dimensional gate in front of him opened before River slowly entered, not a single shred of fear to be found on him. And with that he was off.

As River arrived he was surprised to find he had materialized on to a stable planet Earth. There was no anomalies to be found and none his attached radar could detect. Either he arrived to a user who didn’t use it or, more likely, just before they had begun to use it.

TransDem Labs strived to learn lots of valuable information from each Chronivac they had sent out and used a machine to calculate the most lucrative realities to deliver them to. However, their calculations weren’t completely accurate and sometimes they were sent to realities where not much significant data could be gained. These were thought as failures and it was requested that the Chronivac be reclaimed and sent to another user who would use it more effectively.

River deduced that this must be one of those realities before he heard a sudden noise from his wristband.

“SLIGHT CHANGE DETECTED,” it read.

Using his radar, he pinpointed the location and found it to be at an apartment nearby. The gates tended to transport agents near the Chronivac’s when they arrived but only when it was safe to do so. Since it was his first mission, River figured he must have materialized closer because it was an easy assignment.

He used the built in dimensional map feature within his suit to find directions to the apartment and headed over immediately.

As he walked on the sidewalk many passerby’s noted his odd clothing and stared at him. Children often resorting to questioning their parents while teenagers erupted in boisterous laughter upon seeing his appearance. River paid all of them no attention. He was here for a mission. Not a fashion show.

His TDS came with an invisibility feature but it was only meant to be used when necessary. A bit of heckling and attention was a nuisance but not an emergency.

River finally arrived at the apartment complex. He pulled out his TDR (TransDem Reporter), a device shaped like a mobile phone that worked to relay important information to him and worked as a communicator between agents and headquarters. It also granted the ability to send any important information or messages to HQ in the cases of emergencies or requests for backup. However, none of that would be needed on the mission River was currently on. He turned the device on and loaded up the usual necessary information he needed to know about the reality, the user, and the Chronivac.

Reailty: Normal Earth, populated by humans, no massive changes found.
User: Sean
Changes: 2
• User used the Chronivac on themselves to gain 25 pounds
• User used the Chronivac to alter their Body Tone
Chronivac State: Chronivac 4.0 is in Good Condition, likely Brand New

River looked at the information with satisfaction. Nothing important to report. Now the only question was his next choice of action.

What should he do next?
