"Now, whose turn is it?" Tom asked, returning to the table.
"Mine," said Sue, still smiling nastily as Hannah glared at her, unable to lift her head from the saucer of milk.
Sue reached out, took the dice, and rolled.
Her piece slid forward by itself, and she said, "What have we got here?"
Everyone who could leaned in to get a better look at the card.
"It's rude of you to insult the cat,
indeed, it is her house.
Humility would serve you well;
you'll find it - as a mouse."
Sue frowned for a moment, as the meaning of the card registered with her. Then she swore. "Oh, no way," she muttered, backing away with a horrified expression on her face.
Hannah smiled a vicious, disturbing smile which made Tom suddenly feel worried for Sue. "Hannah, don't-"
The changes began without warning. One moment, Sue was standing there, looking concerned, the next, she was shrinking within her clothes, her body reshaping, her screams becoming more high-pitched and hard to hear, her skin sprouting white fur as a tail shot out from the end of her back...
...and then, finally, Tom reached down and, gently, lifted Sue out. "My god," he said, "are you okay?"
Although she was clearly a mouse, in size and shape, Sue's face was still vaguely recognisable as her own. "Omigod omigod this wasn't supposed to happen... I... but... please help me..."
"We can't do anything," said Tom gently, putting her onto the table.
The moment he let go, though, Hannah snatched Sue's prone body from him. "Well, well," she snarled.
Sue shrieked with fright, but it sounded more like squeaking to the others.
Hannah's smile widened. "Revenge is going to *very* sweet, Sue," she said, raising Sue to her mouth...
