Theia Heavystone was doing her afternoon walk in the form of a horse. Like many horse witches, she felt uncomfortable if she stayed in a human form constantly. But her responsibilities at the riding school prevented her from being in a horse form there. As such, she took a horse form each afternoon and walked around the riding school. Her ears twitched as she picked up on the sound of hooves.
Quickly, Theia returned to her human form. The hoofbeats got louder until their source was revealed: two riderless mares. Theia’s jaw dropped. In all her years, she had never seen such high quality horses. The black Arabian looked like she could have come from the Royal Stables. The Arabian’s companion was a breed Theia had never had the chance to see in person: a Witch’s Pony. And a fine one at that.
Theia approached the mares. Both shied away from her, but Theia had just the spell for that. She silently cast a soothing and alluring charm.
“Hello, dears,” Theia cooed to the mares. Now under her spell, the horses didn’t try to flee as she magically summoned two leads, which she placed upon them. She began to lead them to the riding school, thrilled beyond belief at her find. Once they got to the riding school, she would magically scan them to make sure they weren’t injured or ill, as well as properly assess their pedigrees. She also silently made a note to talk to Dmitri Copperstone, as his family notoriously bred high-quality Witch’s Ponies.
Sassy and Anya obediently followed the horse witch, her spell fooling them into thinking she was a trustworthy ally. Neither had any concerns or suspicions. At least, not at the moment.
